Chapter  5

-VB-

After my very fun and pleasurable time with both Wiska and Tina (separately), I looked over what I gained.

Tor Town didn’t get hit at all because I managed to intercept the pirates before it reached there, and all of the Tor Towners lived. They … also saw my clones’ faces, so they knew that I wasn’t exactly normal.

But I also gained a legless Locust, almost nonfunctional Firestarter, and a very beat-up Enforcer. The pirate’s dropship fled the moment they realized their boss and their mechs all got downed. Cowards.

The mechs proved good enough for my twins, and Tina and Wiska salivated over a tech branch they never encountered before.

Still, I now had mechs to work with.

Cool.

What wasn’t cool was how some of the townspeople were taking to the new revelations.

Many of them saw me as something otherworldly.

Others thought Cooperland had been a secret experimental Star League base. The clones and the deep mines that I dug for my sake didn’t help with dissuading them of that notion.

And, honestly, that might be both the best and the worst option for me to go along with.

The best because I don’t need to explain too much about how I can do what I can do, the techs I bring about, and other things.

The worst because as soon as word got out that Cooperland had people working with Star League base and all sorts of exotic technologies, everyone from the neighboring pirates to ComStar will come over to take it for themselves or to prevent others from taking it.

I can … afford to think on this for a little bit. A day. A week.

Hell, I can probably think about this for a whole month if I really wanted to!

It helped that there was no HPG station on Cooperland, which meant that news about any Star League caches or bases would take weeks if not months to properly propagate.

Considering that some of my secrets were now out, I decided to expand out of the tunnels and into the immediate valleys and foothills. Between my Minecraft crafting and building and Tina and Wiska’s technological prowess, we managed to build up what could arguably be called a small fort in a fifteen acre area. It was big enough to house all of the mechs and their bays, have walls thick enough that mechs couldn’t just barrel through them or shoot over them and into the compound, and have actual houses that Tina and Wiska appreciated.

The entire compound, the houses, extra fortifications, and the technological accessories took us a week.

“So what did you want to talk about, Georn?” I asked the councilor as I gestured for him to sit across from me.

The middle aged man, who looked like someone in his sixties, fidgeted.

Then he spoke up.

“Are you… from the Star League?”

I blinked before letting out a sigh. “Nope,” I replied irreverently. “And just so we are clear, there are no SLDF bases, hidden or ruined, on Cooperland.”

I understood where he was coming from. With only science to answer what he saw around me, he could only guess that something like cloning was involved. While cloning was indeed part of it, he was probably thinking tube babies and not superpowers.

“Then…?”

“Just someone looking to establish himself away from the pirates and successor lords.”

“... and what are your plans for us?”

“Sorry?”

“You have mechs. Tiny mechs. And also now mech salvages. You have trained clones with weapons. What do you intend for Tor Town and Cooperland?”

“It's my home for now. I want to protect it. And if I have to ‘convinced other towns and villages to contribute to the planetary defense fund, then I'll have to do some convincing.”

He nodded slowly. “So you expect us to contribute.”

“Yup. I don't care how, only that you do.”

“And what would be expected of us?”

I thought about it briefly.

“Let's go with ten percent of income annually.”

“Ten percent,” he said out loud, but he did so more for himself than to make a proclamation. “That is… probably acceptable.” He paused. “Just money?”

“Of income of any kind. Harvested crops are also income. Food, especially long shelf-life food, would also be part of this new tax.” a pause. “I will leave the calculations of value up to you for food and meat, but if you underreport by forcefully devaluing commodities, then I'm liable to get upset.”

He grimaced but nodded. “And … if we can't because of combat, disease, or natural problems?”

“We'll talk then.”

Georn sat in his chair, going over everything we've talked about so far, and then nodded. “I will go tell my people. We will inform you of our decision in … a week.”

“A week, it is.”

And then he left, leaving me to my thoughts.

Ten percent was, as far as taxes went, pretty generous for the kind of protection I just showed off in the past few days.

I banked another 21 points, and decided I needed a way to deal with biological stuff that Tina and Wiska didn't know how to.

So I bought a Template, again.

This time, I bought a Template of Amy Dallon/Panacea, the premier biokinetic.

And just like that, I conquered all diseases and injuries, though I will have to prepare a lot of biomass and practice healing. Thankfully, I had a bunch of new subjects!

Yes, Georn came back and told me that Tor Town accepted my protection, and even brought over a kei truck-lookalike's flatbed worth of rock salt, one of the main exports of the Tor Town. As “thanks” and in reciprocating gesture, I stationed one of the Glasgows in Tor Town to patrol and defend it against criminals and wildlife.

But I now had a point leftover.

One point was enough to purchase any Tier 1 Companion, no Used discount needed.

And I had a heckling for big breastfed MILFs.

I looked over the Company's catalog within what could be considered my office… and found one.

“Megami-chan’s Mother” from Getsuyoubi no Tawawa. A divorcee, a MILF in her 30’s, gorgeous, and a responsible woman. Also, amicable, friendly, and teasing. What was there to hate her for?

Aside from jealousy regarding her G-cup tits from flat women.

Like Tina and Wiska.

… huh.

Was that actually going to be a thing?

I should ask.

---

“You’re going to buy another woman?” Tina asked. Wiska sat next to her on the couch, and the two of them looked resigned and heartbroken.

“I won’t if you tell me not to,” I told them honestly. “At least until it gets too much.”

“What gets too much?” she asked with a frown.

“I told you how my cloning power works?”

“Yeah?”

“Have you thought about what having a thousand blue balls feels like to a single mind?”

They stared and then paled.

“Wait, then -.”

I leaned in. “I have two great girls in front of me, and if your minds and hands weren’t so vital to the expansion, then there is a not insignificant chance that you might spend every waking hour of your days doing the bare minimum of essentials and then having sex with me and my clones non-stop. Because once just one of the clones get horny, the rest of the clones get horny. And it doesn’t stop until all of us have had satisfaction.”

“O-Oh,” Wiska muttered. “So when … when just one of you sleeps with me…”

“The rest of my clones are blue balled unless they jerk off.”

She blushed… and Tina blushed.

She was a lot more daring and inquisitive about sex than Wiska. After all, she offered to reward the clones who “risked” their lives and took them all at the same time.

“And the woman you want to buy is…?”

“No skill. Great body. A businesswoman whose specialty is running a bar. In essence, not someone essential like you two are.”

They preened a little at my words, even if they felt ill at ease with another woman “muscling in” no more than a month after their arrival.

“Or, if you want,” I said. “We can designate one or two days a week as ‘love’ day and my clones and I fuck you until you collapse, but even that is not going to last long once I start expanding beyond this facility.”

Wiska took a deep breath in and let it out. “I don’t like it… but I like that you came to ask for our feelings on the matter,” she mumbled. “And if it happens, then it happens.”

Tina looked a bit more rebellious at the idea, but Wiska’s resigned acceptance seemed to dampen the winds of her sail, and she withered, too.

“Besides,” I shrugged. “It’ll be some time before that happens, and I will not just leave my first and second wives by themselves.”

They blinked up at me and then their eyes widened.

“First and…?” Wiska asked.

“Second wives?”

I looked at them quizzically. “Yes? Why else would I have bought you two? If I wanted women to warm my bed, then there are enough people out there who’ll gladly join me in bed for a paycheck. I chose you two because I knew enough about you two to consider asking you to be my wives.”

Their mouths opened and closed and …

No other reaction? No, they were frozen stiff.

I waved my hands in front of their eyes.

“Ah. They fainted.”

3020.06.16: Tina and Wiska both got pregnant! That seemed to really ease them of whatever anxiety they had.

3020.07.11: With a bit of biokinetic finagling after a lot of experiments and practice, I managed to make a frost-resistant barley. I did this by giving the barley stem and leaves a waxy surface and sugar packed cellulose structures. This in turn made the stalks sweet for an uncooked fiber. Kind of like a sweet onion but way too thin and way too fibrous to be worth cooking.

3020.07.12: With another 20 points, I bought Template II for the Panacea template. It was way too useful for me to not take advantage of it as much as possible immediately.

3020.08.11: I simply wasn’t learning fast enough from Tina and Wiska. So I bought Science Talent, even though I knew that Science Talent wasn’t the talent for making something but rather learning science. And the science of FTL and energy shields used by Tina and Wiska’s home universe was one of them.

3020.08.15: finished repairs on all battlemechs but the Locust, including energy shield upgrades. With these mechs and the Glasgow mechs, we began to explore the planet, because - according to Councilor Georn - the last surveys done of this world had been decades, if not a hundred, years ago. I assigned my clones into pairs, one Glasgow with one battlemech, and sent them out to survey the land. The sole remaining Glasgow standing guard over Tor Town.

3020.09.04: after some trial and error, we managed to put on a pair of legs onto the Locust. It wasn’t the same spindly legs it was supposed to have but something closer to a Crab’s in thickness and armor; it also got the energy shield upgrade like the rest of the battlemechs in our possession. This slowed it down, but at 95 kph, it was still as fast as most light mechs. Except it was also now as tanky as a medium mech with the increased armor and energy shield.

3020.09.08: finished constructing our first mech factory and assembly line for a 20 tonner mech incorporating Code Geass tech, space dwarf tech, and local battlemech tech. I'm going to name my mechs after flowers. Just because. I’m going to call this… a Clover mech. Yes, Clover CLV-1.

3020.09.11: another twenty points stocked up. I decided to get another template like Ernesti. Instead of a mech engineer/designer, I got a template for spaceship engineer/scientist/designer. Caede Celeste from Iron Shell. It was time to start making my way into space. Caede Celeste was the foremost expert in a lot of things, but one of her expertise was artificial intelligence integration. I really hoped this was the way forward for me.

3020.09.16: a very rude visitor came to see me and made demands as the representative of the “Baron of Cooperland.” I was not impressed.
