Borsalino is Kizaru's real name. Kizaru is his nickname as an admiral, as all of them get one. Sakazuki (Akainu = Red Dog), Kuzan (Aokiji = Blue Pheasant), Borsalino (Kizaru = Yellow Monkey), Aramaki (Ryokugyu = Green Bull), Issho (Fujitora = Wisteria Tiger). That's also why the marines don't call Kuzan Aokiji anymore, as he's no longer an admiral. About the other ppl at the lab, they were not replaced by robots etc, they were still there, Sentomaru helped them evacuate a few episodes ago.
