Hey guys,
So last week my debut on NHK World took place - a tv show about Japanese rural cuisine called Savor Japan. I initially participated in the show with the hope it would bring me fame and fortune, and signify my launch into the world of Japanese tv.
Unfortunately, for anyone that watches it, you'll quickly find it's anything but the case - the painfully slow NHK WORLD editing style makes it a struggle to watch, and whoever edited it doesn't seem to understand English well - given that I seemed to be cut off mid sentence at times during the show, in an almost comical fashion.
I wouldn't have minded about all this - however, as part of the agreement, I had to promote the show through my social media, meaning I had to actively promote my own embarrassment.
Hence last week I quickly scripted and filmed this week's video about the best place to live in Japan and quietly slotted it in at the end.
On the upside I learned a valuable lesson.
- Avoid Japanese tv!
