Hey guys!
So here it is, our first pilot episode for the Abroad in Japan Podcast! It was a lot of fun to make and something I've been wanting to do for years now.
The only problem was I didn't know anything about Podcasts, and I needed a decent co-presenter to make it work; with that in mind we've got one of London's top radio DJ's - award winning Podcaster and self professed Japanophile - Pete Donaldson on board, and I'm delighted to say I think it works.
In our first episode we discuss Valentines Day and using `Tinder in Japan, stalking Ken Watanabe, the tallest upcoming skyscraper in Tokyo and the most recent tsunami video!
The show will be weekly out every Wednesday on iTunes and on acast - one of the top apps for podcasts - as well as PlayerFM.
You can listen to the first episode now on acast just by clicking here: https://aca.st/4701c7
And you can also subscribe on iTunes where the show will shortly be appearing:https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/abroad-in-japan/id1338558972?mt=2
I'm optimistic the Podcast will definitely improve over time as I get to know how it's all done and I learn how to talk non-stop for 45 minutes.
Weekly Patreon vlogs will resume in a few days; while I've been in the UK I've not been doing anything worth showing in particular - mainly prepping for the upcoming weeks and the onslaught of Youtube videos and Podcasts, as well as getting some stock footage of London to slot into Natsuki: The Movie which is now on target for an early Spring release as we edit and stitch it together.
Many thanks to you all for the kind words on the most recent video about the tsunami and Tohoku. The response was incredible! I really had no idea how it would go down and clearly this new type of documentary style format has a place on the channel amongst the usual vlogs!
It's got my mind racing for potential documentaries going forward. Once we've got the Podcasts up and running and Natsuki: The Movie out the way, the next target will be getting something on Netflix.
Maybe that will take us a step closer to getting Ken Watanabe in a video ;-)
Enjoy the Podcast everyone, be sure to leave your thoughts below and I look forward to catching up with you all in the coming days!
