The first of 6 glorious Patreon Exclusive Episodes featuring behind the scenes bloopers, outtakes and deleted scenes from Journey Across Japan: Escape to Fuji!

On Day 1 of our Journey Across Japan, through quarries and love hotels, not everything went according to plan! Here’s the first Patreon exclusive behind the scenes episode, with deleted scenes and outtakes from our trip from Tokyo to Nagano, as well as uncensored footage of the chilling artwork in the love hotel.

(Each week after the next episode is released to Abroad in Japan, be sure to check in to Patreon a couple of days later for the behind the scenes episode).

As my own worst critic, even I’ll admit I was pretty satisfied with how the first episode turned out. Going into this series I had a checklist of things I wanted; bizarre situations, stunning scenery, a cinematic look with high production values, and perhaps above all, Fish and Chip Pringles.

- This week’s episode certainly ticked all those boxes.

Natsuki was also a fantastic bonus as well and I’m so bloody glad he was able to join us, even if it was for the first couple of days. That love hotel just wouldn’t have been the same without him.

In the next episode, I’m delighted to say Natsuki is certainly front and centre for a lot of the events that unfold!

For now guys, enjoy the video!

Chris

And check out this hilarious fan art we received today! Sums up the episode pretty well, haha. (Brilliant artwork by @animebernard on Instagram)

It's impressive how you manage to edit so many high quality videos in such a short time. Just to filter all the crappy footage takes a heck of a time.

I’ve just become a Patron after realising all the amazing, hard work you put into Journey Across Japan, the documentary-like Fukushima videos and now, of course, JAJ2 Electric Boogaloo. Can I just say, as England will be now entering another lockdown, on the 5th, this series will be sure to lift my spirits and I am truely grateful for that <3

Fuck point 😂😂

This numb nail is a perfect representation of post-bubble Japan, 20 years of deflation, shrinking population, and a leadership whose answer is to tightening the screws of Capitalism. Would I be able to get this in poster size? 楽しみにしていて、頑張って。。。

The best moment was Natsuki's reaction to Chris' "no beer reply"; an honest, spontaneous and simply beautiful "fuck you". 😁
