At LONG LAST Japan Set to RE-OPEN Borders on Monday! ✈️ | FIRST LOOK Inside the Abroad in Japan Studio (Patreon)

For the last two years, Japan has practiced the most stringent closed-door policy of any G7 nation. In many ways, it’s done a great deal of damage to the country’s foreign population, where getting in and out has been impossible at times, and where thousands of aspiring students, or people coming to Japan to work had their lives ripped apart.
Politics has been one overarching factor, but with the elections at an end, over 70% of Japan’s population now fully vaccinated and businesses lobbying for a gradual re-opening of the country, at last the government has started to open the door to the country once more!
As of this Monday, business travellers, students and trainee workers with valid visa will start being allowed in, with the 10 day quarantine being reduced to just 3 days for those who are fully vaccinated.
Realistically, it’ll still be another few months before tourists are allowed back in; it’s expected to happen sometime between February and April, and it’s likely tourists will need to provide evidence of vaccination upon arrival.
But at least after a never-ending wait, it seems things might at last be on the path back to normality.
As always though guys, I’ll keep you posted on any updates and for a deeper dive into the subject I recommend reading this article: https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/news/20211105_31/

This weekend I’m currently shooting the last interviews with Ken Watanabe, before I return to the studio to shoot the exciting big reveal video for both Patreon and later Abroad in Japan.
In the meantime, here’s a photo inside part of the set! I showed a friend the other day and he honestly thought I’d green-screened it, haha. Such a lack of faith.
But to be fair I can see why.
