Here it is guys!

The Patreon exclusive behind the scenes, outtakes & deleted scenes from this week's Abroad in Japan STUDIO reveal video, as well as an in-depth rundown of my personal favourite spots within the set!

There's an astonishing amount of detail to cover and I'm going to make a dedicated video for the Chris Abroad channel this week, showing all the pars of the set we weren't able to reveal in the main video, but in the meantime enjoy this first-look private tour, and the hilarious bloopers from the shoot with Natsuki.

I was wondering what was behind the shutter or if it moved! ๐Ÿ˜‚ love this so much! I bet youโ€™ll be finding new little details for months to come hahaha

Great job Chris ๐Ÿ‘

FupaLawd

Great video Chris! I think it would be absolutely brilliant to see you and the gang do a live show making ramen. Itโ€™ll be a disaster for the ages!

I have to ask. How much sake did you end up drinking with all the outtakes?

Ken Addams

Am I the only one who jumps in joy when I see a 15+ minute behind the scenes video?

Max Schalo

It's hilarious being able to see the level of sake continue to deplete as the outtakes continue. Amazing video! This video alone makes it worth having the Patreon tbh, I absolutely love the set!

Michael P.

Chris, could you give us a rough estimate on how much it cost to build that entire set?! It's amazing!!!! Just wondering how expensive it could be!!! Thanks :)

Tinya Wollweber

This is by far the most elaborate studio any YouTuber has ever made in the history of YouTube! And now you have to hire a cleaner to keep everything sparkling clean...

Walsken

What I would love to see is a second pallet/box in the dark alley and then use the two as seats for special themed interviews.

Fabulous set, amazing bts woo hoo! โค

Chris... That Instagram story you recently posted will now haunt me forever. ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜‚ Just thought you should know, hahaha. Also, I'd love to see Sharla and Ryotaro shown around the studio as well! Dr. Jelly too. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

Looks amazing Chris, congratulations on this milestone, well deserved!!

Amazing job Chris! You should have a wall or something where guests can tag and leave their name!

Antรณnio Dias

Quite frankly, this studio is a masterpiece. Congratulations.

Someone is running from the Yakuza and seeks refuge in the seemingly weathered but otherwise normal ramen shop. Little did he know that it actually belongs to the Yakuza. He gets surrounded and barely escapes flying knives and raw salmon heads. A hot pursuit across the alleyways ensues. A pursuing Yakuza is pushed and finds his arse impaled on the "bon jovi pipe" [camera moves to show the horrified expression of a local resident (Ian)]. What will happen to this man? Why is he being chased by the Yakuza? Find out in the next episode.

I think it would be fun to feature some recurring themes/topics. (Thinking along the lines of Mr. Rogers and how they had things like the "Speedy Delivery" guy). Another idea would be to have prompts for a skit or challenge come out of the gotcha machine? What about having an alter ego version of Chris who makes random appearances? Maybe with a different accent? "American Chris" or something? LOL You are an incredibly creative individual, I am 100% certain you will come up with things that suit your vision and sense of humor. And as always, looking forward to see what you get up to!

WT

Or do you hire someone to keep it dingy? Dilemmas

WT

Kinda looks like that unfinished backside of the shop would be perfect for that

Chis this is just absolutely amazing, every tiny thing better than the last. I love the misters but look better covered by the lids I think. In all honesty though, as incredible as the set is, we are here to see you. Your talents your vision and tastes, your personality made all of that possible. Iโ€™m happy to be part of helping you fulfill a dream, live a fantasy and further your career. What you do with that set will far surpass it in awesomeness I am certain. Just please take us along for the ride, we really do wanna be right by your side. ๐Ÿป The best part of this vid is the end where you blow alcohol out your nose because of Natsuki! Hey when tourists come back in, fund that movie you wanna make w set tours, $1000 a head for private tours of the shop 5 min max. Lol. Times up get the F out. ๐Ÿ˜‚. Youโ€™d have a line ! Sell us merch too. Slap some of your โ€˜for fuck sakeโ€™ labels on empty bottles or just all of your drinks empty bottles and cans shown on camera and sell to fans at exuberant prices - they are authentic set props after all. Item #5 ginger ale can as seen in bts Patreon episode ๐Ÿคฃ

The sets look fantastic! You can really see true professionals worked on it. And this video could've easily been released on the main channel as a 'Future of Abroad in Japan' type of video, also could serve as a promo for the Patreon. ;) Nonetheless, good work on the studio, eagerly awaiting new content!

Would love to see Abroad in a Pan 2: Ramen edition

FIY Chris you can get that old telephone to work by using a bluetooth gateway and a pulse to tone convertor. The whole set-up wouldn't cost more than US$50. Here's a quick how-to video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IaGNquXURk

That is just amazing ๐Ÿ˜ต

I just watched the Trash Taste #30, 2021 New Years episode with Chris, and they talked about resolutions and Chris actually fulfilled his resolution of doing "a life changing event" and "something really big and stupid and awesome that will define me for the rest of my life". Well done, sir. Well done.

If you love movie sets you should come to New Zealand as they have the hobbiton set which you can visit. I have done so and quite cool, they took it down for after lord of the rings but remade it for the Hobbit films but they built it to last this time.

mayurin

i'm just genuinely very happy for you ๐Ÿฅบ
