After a billion years, a desk drenched in breadcrumbs and coffee, and a wrist numb from dragging clips around a screen, at last it's DONE.

And I don't think I ever want to edit a video ever again after today.

(FYI: We're lucky to have a great editor on Abroad in Japan these days, but as editing this documentary required Japanese knowledge I ended up doing it myself).

But it's done and been sent off to Ken and his team, who'll be watching it over before it goes public. Hopefully if all goes well it'll be up in the next few weeks along with a Patreon exclusive episode talking about how we made it!

All in all I'm pretty happy with the finished documentary -  I think Ken's story is both fascinating and inspirational.

In more good news, tonight Natsuki has arrived in Sendai just in the nick of time to help me revitalise my sanity after a long week of editing. We may even talk about this Day in the Life of Japanese Hitman idea finally.

Join us as we have a much needed drink in the ramen shop and catch up for the first time in 2022! Hopefully this time he won't trash the set either with his ridiculous amount of Umaibo snacks.

We’ll be holding the live show tomorrow (Wednesday 2nd) at 10pm Japan time!

So glad to read you have finished editing and you seem happy with the the final version! You've talked so much about your struggles with this project, I was worried you'd go batty over it.

Chris, you can't quit on me. You promised us an interview with the Emperor, and I'm fairly certain the editing on that is going to be "emperor" level. Keep it up!

Annine

Bonnie L

Watched during training at work...is he coming to NYC this year!?

Shaye Fleming

I bet you felt extra pressure knowing it would need to be viewed and approved by him and or his team. Luckily you always work hard to produce the absolute best content anyways, and all will be well I'm sure. Good job Chris!
