TL;DR for those who don't want to watch the video: dealing with a lot of shit behind the scenes and don't have as much time to record/do general content creation so I'm making the difficult decision to cancel the rest of my AI: The Somnium Files Let's Play. Sorry to those who are watching that LP, hope you understand ):

Dealing with YouTube burnout: the not so fun side of content creation

Hey all, just a quick update on some small changes I'll be making to the channel to help deal with recent issues I've been dealing with. Thank you all for your understanding xo If you'd like to support me on Patreon, here's the link: https://www.patreon.com/rosematterplays

Completely understandable, you should always put your social and mental health first! Take breaks if you need to, especially for family and friends. Hope you feel better!

I've battled with depression and insane amounts of stress my entire life. Had days where I woke up and the only thing on my mind was if I could even make it to the end of the day without doing some bad to myself because of the pressure I had to seem normal and be a happy social person. Never feel like you need to apologize for doing something for your mental health. We all understand completely and have your back. :)

100% understandable and it sounds like you made the right call all things considered.. A healthy work/life balance is important and should be prioritized, even if YouTube is somewhat of something in between work and a hobby. And holy shit, that noise is insanely loud, that would really get on my nerves within 5 minutes… it has been vaguely noticable on the occasional video, but I had no idea it was that loud on your end. Also I think most would agree that your youtube schedule is still very respectable even if you reduce the amount of let's plays by one. Just as a note, perhaps it would be a good idea to clarify the future of the AI let's play - like what are the chances of you picking it back up again sort of thing.
