Time marches onward, and so does progress on the binder! Here's an unscheduled mid-month treat: the playtest document of the binder, extended out to 10th level.

If you're playing a binder right now, or just have a good eye for balance, feel free to chime in down in the comments and let us know how it's coming together.

Super excited to see the rest of these, and getting to play a higher level binder, currently at 4th level, so it will be a bit before the higher levels, but I am excited for them

There's a typo in the 15th lvl part of rebinding- "you can bind rebind two vestiges"

Minor spirits states you can bind additional spirits as you gain levels, as indicated by the binder table, but the table contains no number of minor spirits.

It actually does say in the table, it’s just listed under features instead of having its own column. That said, I do think making the number of minor spirits it’s own column would be a nice addition.

If I bind a blade spirit at 2nd level and transform it into a weapon, does it count as magical for the purposes of overcoming resistances? It seems like that should be spelled out clearly, if so. Why is Chill a bonus action to attack, but a full action to extinguish a campfire? Do weapons count as handheld objects? What would be the effect of freezing them? Maybe make Lantern's ability to extend or lessen its light radius stay that way until you use another action again to change it? I can't think of a situation where I would want to use my whole turn just to create more light for my party. Stone seems like it has the least functionality? I guess it's a choice between steady damage and swingy damage? It doesn't specify if throwing it still counts as a bonus action or if it would take your action, but if its an action to throw, it seems like an ability that goes from being situational to being never used. Does "We Are Many"'s Charisma bonus stack with the Dex bonus of using Stone as an improvised weapon? Or using Blade Spirit as a sword? Lantern says you get the "Chill Touch" cantrip, but I think that's a typo. A lot of these minor spirits already sort of mimic the cantrips that you get. Is the intent just to kind of doublecast with some of them? (Like Chill and Ray of Frost) Does "We Are Many" affect the damage of these cantrips?

Does the Cha added to Minor Spirit damage from Legion Lodge apply to the spirit's associated cantrip? Is the weapon created from the Shape Void feature considered magical? Shouldn't rebinding be something that is done on a short rest? like a wizard's arcane recovery. Can you rebind the same vestige to "recharge" a 1/long rest ability? Can you include a list of the vestiges in order of level at the beginning of the Vestige Codex? Would changing the Ritual of the Black Brand feature to gaining the vestiges first tier ability be too much? Seems like the first ability gained is either a boost, proficiency or cantrip. Lastly, what do you think of Shrouded Cabal as the archetype name? Shrouded, as a double meaning; 1. to further represent the secretive nature, and 2. shroud as in a death wrap since the Binder is conjuring spirits/ remnants.
