I took more time to work on the Lindworm than expected. It turns out that I wanted to give him a bit more love.
He now rather works like the Grue in the Mansion and not like a Gamble Trap.
Grue: The blue creature that blocks Sonja's path.
Gamble Trap: A trap that has the chance to benefit Sonja or fucks her over. (literally)
If Sonja talks to the Lindworm, she can either offer coins for some health and stamina or offer... something else for another buff.
Furthermore I added a bonus animation to this big guy; more like an easter egg. You will find out how to see it, but here is a tip:
Once you offer that other thing the game gives you some free space this time. So how about you don't do what the Lindworm is wanting you to do?
Usually, I'd be done with this update, but I chose to add even more:
A fast thing I will change is that the ghosts of the mansion now have a higher chance of spawning at night and the bats there have a higher chance to spawn during the day. One will replace the other depending on the daytime, but not entirely. It will be the same of how currently the Bandits replace the Werewolves and the slimes replace the wolves and vice versa. So, the player will still be able to find a few bats at night and ghosts at daytime.
I asked my Discord Server how they feel about this change, cause players have to deal with the bats again (at least in daytime). They are okay with it. It adds to the day/night cycle and I think I should make more use of this meachnic.
If all goes to hell, I can still change it back.
Once that is done the final thing for this update is making a second animation for all simple traps! This will include:
Forest: tentacle trap, spider trap
Mansion: hectocotylus trap (the tentacle in the floor), shadow hands
Cave: abyss tentacle, roper (the thing that disguises as a stalagamite)
I'd just had it kept by one animation each trap, but Monki on my Discord made the following statement:
"Can we get a second animation for all those " invisible roadblocks"? What I mean is those hard to see Vines or (to a lesser extend) Spiders in the woods, the Licking holes or the Ghost hands in the mansion. The thing is it is way to easy to get trapped by them, but seeing the same animation over and over gets old fast."
It's a simple reason, but he has a fair point. So I will go for that now.
Hint: the gamble traps will still keep only one animation for now!
I will do everything to release this update in July.
