"We all make our choices. And those choices, they put us on a road. Sometimes those choices seems small but they put you on the road. You think about getting off but eventually you're back on it. The road we're on led us out to the desert and everything that happened there and straight back to where we are right now. And nothing, nothing can be done about that." I think in a sense, this is the central thesis of both shows. We are presented with characters who again and again make choices that keep them on the "bad choice road". It leads Mike to embrace being a 'button man' for a cartel kingpin, it leads Walt to nuke his own life for 1 year of glory, it leads Gus to get blown up in a nursing home, it leads Jimmy to become Saul Goodman and eventually have to go into hiding. I think you're both really gonna enjoy Season 6 and how it wraps up the "breaking bad universe".... if they never make more stuff, it'll be the last BB content we ever see you react to 😭💖

Honestly this might be the most fun I've had watching reactions, watching you two watch this show. Maple has been dialed in for basically the whole show on exactly what to expect and I'd be lying if I didn't enjoy the huge anxiety that Arianna goes through when the stakes are high, lol.

during the lalo confrontation i could hear maple breathing so hard with anxiety and honestly, that is the most reasonable reaction. when i first watched that scene i was transfixed with terror.

for those who like to say, "this show is a slow burn"--these next few episodes, the fire on the stove just got turned waaaay up!!! the look of terror on Arianna's face was priceless! this show really knows how to ratchet up tension, holy crap!

I was thinking about "slow burn" during these watches. I really think it's hard to have impacts this big without the 'slow burn' to start. The writing is layered and nested, none of this would hit as hard without all the time we spent with Kim and JImmy and Chuck and Howard and Mike and even Lalo, and everyone else.

i thought kim was donezo when it first aired, i could barely look at the screen. i might have paused it even.

Ariana clutching her pearls thinking Kim was done, yeah it was really like that watching it live. The writing is so well done given their constraints to being a prequel show. Up until this point we still don't know what happens to Kim and why she doesn't show up or is specifically referenced by Saul in B.B.

The guy Gus talked to on the phone at his office in Los Pollos Hermanos was Don Bolsa, he and Hector are the underbosses who report to Don Eladio (swimming pool guy.) He's the guy that Gus has killed by the Federales near the end of Season 3 or maybe 4? of BB.

I just noticed cuz I watched this the other day but edited, the parallel between Mike going "We've gotta work on your story" here and then the same situation after Jane died. Jesse did a better job for sure than Jimmy does in the next episode. Also yea it's kind of dumb - the judge didn't have to set bond. If someone is a flight risk and has a history or even if the judge just feels like it, they can deny setting bail much less accepting bail. $7 million is a ridiculous F you amount that they couldn't possibly have expected but then it's like, why did you set any number at all?

I think Kim jumped in because Jimmy offered to give the money back were the cup is so he would have been screwed. I think Mike was there more in case Jimmy went off script from the story they had planned.
