Big up the dainty wrist gang. I bet Richard E Grant was having the best time hamming it up on that stage. Also, Kevin Eldon who played Ned Stark on stage is a brilliant British comedic actor. He's starred in a crazy amount of British comedy shows throughout the 90s and 2000s. Also, also, fuck Tommen, the lickspittle little cnt.

Looking forward to the next episode!

This rewatch of S5 and S6 with you guys has made me realize how heavily reliant the show was when it came to Jon because you definitely feel it when he is not in the episode.

Surprisingly, I don't have many issues with this episode. It was mostly a set-up episode anyway, so yeah, it's fine. There are obviously small things that don't make sense, some inconsistencies that don't add up, but at this point, who's counting. The Benjen reveal is interesting because it plays into a long-standing fan theory from the books about a character just named "Coldhands" (Benjen's blackened hands are a reference to this) who is introduced earlier than this undead Benjen here is in the show, he helped Sam and Gilly go south to the Wall in book 2 where they met up with Bran and then helps Bran and his crew go north. And from his description, many fans speculated that he is in fact Benjen. But at the point where this episode came out, the theory had seemingly been refuted by some leaked draft of the book to George's editor where the editor asked in the margin if that character was Benjen and George wrote "no". But who knows, George changes his mind a lot, so it could still be true. But they could also just be combining two book characters in the show. And I agree with Maple, the Daenerys thing where she's being a badass and shouting at her followers at the end of episodes, riling them up, it's getting kind of formulaic and repetitive. But whatever.

they really chopped themselves at the knees by removing tyrion from kings landing. the sparrow stuff is interesting plotwise but we were left with a pretty dry bunch that isn't that fun to watch on screen. tyrion and lady olenna together woulda given a lot more life to kings landing. ~Chad

As much as people blame Cersei for Joffrey (when she was literally undermined whenever it came to raising him but was expected to keep him in line), Tommin being gone from the Red Keep without anyone on the Council knowing just proves how much Cersei does when it comes to keeping the heirs in line.
