Just to play devil's advocate here, in defense of sir criston Cole the man comes from poor beginnings, his oath was literally the biggest thing his lineage had ever achieved so when he broke it I'm sure it made him spun out. On top of that you can't tell me that there wasn't a power dynamic at play when they hooked up, on top of the fact that she was the one that started contact. The marriage part on the boat yeah it was just him trying to find any resemblance of his oath back. To a point I got it but at the same time the man spun out Xtra hard 😅😅😅

I’m so excited to watch your reaction to the next episode! HotD season 1 was perfection. I don’t think I’m capable of loathing Criston any more than I already do. Poor Laenor.

A completely useless comment where I’m essentially talking to myself but I love Maple’s brain. It works just like mine and it makes me laugh. She’s so fucking funny.

Not to defend Sir Christian — he’s a fucking idiot — but I think it’s easier to understand if you put yourself in his head. She shows up in the middle of the night and seduces him. He goes along with it because she’s beautiful, she’s a princess and he probably does have a crush on her. Afterward he is ridden by guilt because his identity is based around honor and the act was essentially a sin in that regard. The option to marry her, while preposterous, is all he has. He had to cling to that idea because it’s the only way he can reclaim his identity so he most likely spends and exorbitant amount of time ruminating about it. Probably to the point where he convinces himself that she may go along with it. We all have our little best case scenario fantasies that are very dumb in hindsight when they don’t to come to fruition. While he’s a goofball, I think the behavior is not bad writing— I think it is inline with how he would behave.
