honestly the most unrealistic part of this show is how Jules isn't constantly being harrassed for being trans. even if her being trans is a plot element sometimes, she's still largely treated at school and elsewhere the same as all the cis girls. and it's also really strange to me that a sapphic relationship in this show, one between a cis girl and a trans girl no less, is just not a big deal to anyone even though being a gay or bisexual dude is a massive issue that Maddie struggles even to understand.

Also I don't get why the show has Nate clock her immediately in the first episode. She's completely passable. You tend to be if you get to transition at 13.
