Heat 0.6.8.2 - Easier topping/bottoming, Hera outfit, misc improvements (Patreon)

For far too long bottoming for a character has been quite difficult, and likewise topping a character without FBT. This month we're working on improving that! However it is a very complicated system so it may have a few issues with it still that we'll be ironing out!


In this update both characters and playerbodies (without fbt) will rotate their hips to align penetrator to orifice, allowing for much easier penetration. This should hopefully make it much easier to get it on with your favourite character without possessing a duo pose.

We've also fixed a lot of smaller issues and added a new Hera outfit.

Next month is December, which will be a shorter work month for us. Also, see you all at MFF!

Vive:

I've completely run out of buttons on this thing so you may need to customize the controls in the SteamVR overlay. If you have any suggestion on how best to bind everything, let me know on Discord please.

  • That weird button close to the pad: Menu

  • Grip: Shoot w/ toys

  • Bottom of touchpad: Kiss/Lick

  • Left Touchpad: Move

  • Sides of Right Touchpad: Rotate

  • Top of Touchpad whilst holding toy: Radial Menu

WMR

WMR controls change depending on the model, and some actions may be unbound entirely. You can see/edit your bindings by going to the settings in the SteamVR overlay and adjust the bindings and add any missing actions there.

For 2D:

  • ESC: Close/move menu

  • WASD: Move

  • P/L: Switch between VR mode and 2D mode

  • Q/E or Ctrl/Space: Move up and Down

  • TAB: Open Radial Menu

  • N: Extend tongue/kiss

  • M whilst holding toy: Shoot

  • Click: Grab something when the cursor lights up green

  • R/F, Z/X, T/G: Rotate item in hand

  • Mouse Wheel: Move object away or towards the camera

  • Mouse: Rub something when the hand moves in Debug Keys:

  • I: Make character erect

  • C: Make character climax

Known Issues

  • Laser might not register with UI sometimes, possible fixes are: Game restart, by setting the game window to focus by clicking on it, or by alt-tabbing (let me know if this still happens, I may have fixed it)

  • Browser doesn't launch when hitting authenticate, or refuses to connect: Try running in admin mode or setting a different browser to default temporarily

Common Solutions to Game Issues

These are common solutions to many problems, ranging from the tongue not spawning to the game not launching in VR, or the game not authenticating. Try these out first if you're having issues, they work surprisingly often. If they don't work, message me and I'll be glad to help.

All issues (try these first):

  • Right click on verifyintegrity.ps1 and select 'Run with PowerShell' to validate your files. If this fails, redownload the game. The download got corrupted.

  • Make sure the game isn't installed within any folders that have winky faces or other unusual characters in them at any part in the path. This includes characters from other languages.

  • Webroot, and rarely other antiviruses falsely flag the game and will delete its files without telling you anything. Make sure they don't do that

  • Restart the game and your computer

Auth issues:

  • If you're using a VPN it must be a system-wide VPN, not just a browser VPN

  • If you have a localhost error in your browser, press the auth trouble button below the authenticate button and follow the directions exactly.

  • Check "use alternate port" below the authenticate button

  • Run the game as admin

  • Make sure an antivirus isn't messing with Heat

  • Make sure game is let through firewall

  • Set a different browser to default temporarily

  • Disable adblocker temporarily

  • Disable any security that could prevent your computer from opening a socket and accepting a connection temporarily

VR issues:

  • Adding the game as a non-steam game then running from within SteamVR (if not working in VR)

  • Press P to switch to 2D mode and L to switch to VR mode on your keyboard

  • If your hands don't work, reset SteamVR bindings for the game. If you can't do this, launch the game from the .exe, not from the Steam shortcut

  • If you're using Oculus and the game doesn't launch in VR, launch SteamVR and sit in it for about 30 seconds then run the game from within SteamVR

  • Reinstall/validate SteamVR and Oculus software

  • Update video drivers

  • Clicking on the game window with your mouse when the game is open then putting on your VR headset (if the UI laser doesn't work)

  • Make sure the game isn't installed within any folders that have winky faces or other unusual characters in them at any part in the path. This includes characters from other languages.

  • If you have trouble with Lovense connections, watch the pinned video in the Lovense channel on the Discord.

The animation improvements in this update will make the characters look more attractive. I should buy VR goggles, but I'm having a lot of fun playing it in 2D mode as well.I haven't tried everything yet, but Garrett's jaw texture seems to be missing in the cabin. Maybe my environment is bad... Thank you for your hard work in daily development. I look forward to seeing better development in the future.

My biggest dream would be a player body for 2D mode, so that you can see a body/dick if you look down and can penetrate someone with auto thrust. Would that be possible someday?

Love the update, It's great! It's fun. I only have one small issue. The new outfit, why is all one where others are individual? Ie Top or bottom are be wearable. Other than that awesome 💯💯

Soooo, something that came to mind as I tried to do the free posing only for things to twist when I didn't need them to or had weird environmental clipping or strange genital clipping (God do I hope I never have to write THOSE words ever again!). Why not simply add more preset positions to each character's set? Including positions that don't...I'll say, match their "character architype" (EXAMPLE: Bottoming positions for Garret; namely an on-all-fours, presenting-himself-on-the-bed-like-a-good-little-puppy position). You can just make them a toggle feature or something. I'm putting this out there because (and I doubt I'm alone in this) I actually like those kinds of scenarios where you take a super macho, dom-alpha guy and break him into a seed thirsty little mattress kitten. That's what made trying to reposition Garret such a pain the ass (and no, it was unfortunately NOT the fun kind). I was having to constantly despawn and respawn to try and get it right, and then when I finally did (Multiple attempts and 2 days later!), anything inserted (Including Atlas' magnificent member in Player Body Mode) would poke out of his lower back and cause even more problems. This is WAAAAAAY too much work just to have a good time in a furry vr game. If I'm asking for too much, or too much for where the game is at currently, please just ignore this as yet another horny yahoo bitching over his blue-balls.

Forgive me if this the wrong place to ask, I am new to the Patreon. But, what would the recommended graphical settings be for a 4060ti & Ryzen 5 5600? If the player body is active it is very laggy. I dropped the graphics down to “potato” and turned the anti aliasing to off and didn’t really notice a difference. I was wondering if this is a known issue with the game or a me issue

Let's see: 1. When trying to move the arms into a hands-on-the-back-of-the-head position, the biceps and shoulders end up twisting on themselves instead of simply moving with the hands/forearm/elbow section of the arm. And no matter how I try to twist everything back into place, it either doesn't twist much at all, or it twists the opposite way making it look worse. 2. When trying to adjust the incline of the torso (leaning forward/back), despite placing my hand in the same spot as the phantom hand on the spine between the shoulders, for some reason the game will seem to think I'm trying to adjust one of the shoulder areas. I'd say this happens about 8 out of 10 times. This results in the affected shoulder area twisting inwards towards the spine and it just looks downright terrifying. 3. When trying to adjust Atlas' head position while he was sitting in the sauna (I'm specifically naming Atlas here because of the 2 male characters I've interacted with so far, I've only experienced this particular horror fest with him. And again, I say so far.). I was yet again having trouble with making him lean back when I decided to try using his head as the main point of movement. I'm standing over him on the first sauna seat so that I can have a vantage point (he's so damn tall!), I reach down, grab his head, and start pulling him back. Next thing I know his head starts spinning like the demon girl from The Exorcist. I let go and his head happens to stop with most of his head now poking out his back. I freak thinking, "Oh my God, I just killed him!" But then he looks at me and starts talking and I REALLY freak, jump backwards, stumble, then hit my head against my dresser as I'm falling down. Needless to say, that at that point, I no longer had a boner. (Feel free to laugh, I know I did after I stopped bleeding.) 4. When trying to reposition characters on the bed, against the wall, anywhere that there is supposed to be a solid surface really, they get pushed through these solid surfaces. I don't think I really need to explain as to why it is inconvenient to have a character you're trying to adjust simply pass through what is supposed to be a definitive boundary. These are the biggest issues I've run into *so far* in regard to repositioning. Most of it seems to be that whatever programs are in charge of bodily movement and physics don't understand that there are limits to how much a body part is actually able to move when in certain positions or in certain stages of movement.

Thanks for the feedback, we'll look at these situations and try to improve them. Adding limits may be possible but it's a much larger task than people think and there's a reason we haven't done it yet.

Okay so on Low graphics settings, 2x anti aliasing, post processing & bloom enabled, physics quality at Medium, and fluid amount and lifetime at the default settings. According to Xbox Game Bar I am using 45% of my VRAM. And Task Manager & XBG say I am using 32% of my GPU’s utilization. Shared GPU Memory is 0.3/16GB, Dedicated GPU memory is 7.0/8.0GB, & GPU Memory is 7.0/24.0 GB. And currently it is not too laggy. Spawning in Sasha and playing with her with some of the toys makes it jump up a little at the current settings but it is a very small jump.

for some reason im having alot of collision issues with the bed causing me to lag terribly on a 4070ti brings my frames down to like 8 fps
