I've been a furry/scaly for many years, and I've never been super into avians. But if I were to pick straight up birds I'd say a Brazilian Tucan and a hawk (a hawk tua Easter egg joke is of course absolutely necessary) As far as avians in a broader sense go, I think a Griffon would be cool. A feathered dino character, though technically none avian, would also be pretty sick.
