Communication strategies this episode: 1) Stop the electric mixer, or any noise generating activities, when communicating. 2) Provide visual cues when talking (as shown when the doctor pulled down his mask during consultation) Love it when they inserted them into the scene so naturally.

Yes, he is supposed to press the button whenever he hears a tone from the headphones. Noticed he didn't press the button very often? That's cos he can barely most of sounds played, even at very loud volumes.
