For Hua, things are much more complicated than they initially appear. When it comes to his love for Sheng, I think he shows his true self. He has loved him for a long time and has laid the groundwork for their mating. But he's not waiting for Sheng to mark him he's waiting for Sheng to give Hua his consent to be marked by HIM. It must be a big deal for an S-Class Alpha to submit to someone, so Hua has to slowly captivate him step by step. And I think that orchid scent is his original scent but he uses something mentioned at the beginning of ep. 1 that X Holdings developped for him to tone down an Enigma's scent to "Omega strength."
