Wei Wuxian can do anything but I don't think he brought Wen Ning back cause he was never dead don't you remember in the first or second episode Wen Ning attacked that stone goddess and that was 16years in the future. If I remember correctly in the upcoming episodes there is going to be an explanation of why Wen Ning is the way he is.

Hi! It's been a long time since your reaction and you may already know it. however in the novel and in the donghua Wen Ning is dead and Wei Ying transforms him into a ferocious corpse using resentful energy. In the drama instead there are the puppets to which the spiritual energy has been absorbed (for reasons related to censorship it seems to me, but I'm not sure). wever puppet or ferocious corpse, he is initially out of control. ;) sorry for mistakes, english is not my first language
