Cheng is such a terrible leader this is why his dad always scolded him. The dad knew about his temper and wanted him to have more compassion for others cause as a leader his dad was just like that he stood up for the weak and is believes just like Wei does. Cheng is not a bad person, he is just not as strong as Wei is about standing up to the elders when he knows that there in the wrong. The show is indirectly telling the audience that Yuan is Wei Wuxian (the mother) and Lan Wangji’s (the father) adopted child LMAO I love how the script writer threw that in there as a hint.
