I agreeeee. I really don't get why so many people like him yet hate on characters like Jiang Cheng and Jin Zixuan who have genuine reasons for their actions. Xue Yang had ONE bad experience and decided to take it out on whoever he passed, then he proceeded to hurt Xiao Xingchen, the one person he supposedly cared about. I see no reason for liking him.

Actually, Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen are like Lan Zhan and Wei Ying, soulmate and not best friend... That's why when Song Lan saw Xiao Xingchen close to Xue Yang, he was obviously angry but also jealous. That's why the story is even sadder... Soulmates who can never be together...

Although Xiao xingchen and song Lan are like what Lan zhan and Wei ying are, you could still tell that he also cared for Xue Yang (even though he didn’t know of his identity) while Xue Yang learned to care for him just as much or even more to the point he liked him as more than friends. I believe the story of these three is sad in general, a quite tragic love triangle. I love all three of them and hopefully if they ever reincarnate in a parallel universe they all get their happy ending, especially Xue Yang because he truly deserved a better life that treated him better than he wouldn’t have turned out like this (it is even more tragic in the novel). I love my villainous king 🤧

Am I the only one to dislike Xue Yang? His motives/background story do not justify his actions or even make them understandable. Looks aren't everything to make a villain likable. I feel like he just relies on being crazy. But no offence too anybody who likes him.
