Red October seems to have nothing to do with the story, I agree with you. Anan too, agree. The shadow need to be someone revelant to the story, it became strange if not. So... Nai wanted Dan back in the living world, he performed the ritual but Dan didn't want to come back. Trin's spirit took the place in Dan's body. That's given. The last scene, after credits, the shadow was here to witness Dan's birth. OK, I get the point. The father performed a ritual to get a child but the child belongs to the shadow. Therefore Dan and the Shadow are connected. Red October seems just to be a catalyst because Trin wanted the subject to be teached, related to Brother Anurak... Arf... I love how everything is set but hate how everything is resolved at the end.

I agree with you that Dan was a likable character on the first half of the season than the last half of the series he became a complicated character. At first he said he didn’t like Cha-aim then he turned around and said to her that he did like her then he started to give Nai false hope about his feelings for him and then he was so obsessed with the shadow to the point he wanted to stay with the shadow just to find out that the shadow was evil this whole entire time which I don’t understand how he didn’t realize that when it’s was obviously that the shadow was evil. Nai and Cha-aim deserves way better than Dan. But I also think that Josh deserves better than Cha-aim because she obviously in love with Dan and she should just be honest with Josh instead of dating him knowing she doesn’t really like him. But overall this series was good.
