Who was Jesus?

There simply is no story about western civilization that is not bound up with Jesus and Christianity. And, in a sense we are always asking ourselves “Who was Jesus?” What were his teachings? What does his fate mean? Indeed, whether we are Christians or not, whether we even want to or not. And, so, I want to ask those questions and give you what I take to be reasonable historical and scholarly answers to them. Here is my take on the historical Jesus. Let's explore the questions who was Jesus, what were his teachings and how did his fate transform the world? Recommended Readings:

Wow. I was hanging on your every word. This was such an incredible episode and you told it in such truly touching way. Not being raised religious, I wanted to understand what everyone was all upset about all the time and in my early 20s, I read the Bible. It set off a lifelong interest in the history of all of this and you put this story together so beautifully. Can’t wait for Gospel-scape!

Loved it, however it assumes the veracity of the gospel accounts as history and neglects the obvious question of what if it's not? What if it was myth from the start? The "Jesus of faith" is all there is. If there was an itinerant preacher named Jesus around this time (there were likely several) he had nothing to do with the gospel accounts. As you have demonstrated here, his teachings were already present.

Thought provoking to say the least. Thank you for putting this together. As a Catholic it was a challenge to hear you go into “the father of Jesus “ because faith teaches we already know who the father of Jesus is. God. Born of a virgin it’s a basic tenant of Catholicism but it was interesting to really question on a rational level. I am curious about the stories that tell of the father being a Roman soldier. Where can I read more??

What if there are infinite dimensions and this isn't even the dimension he visited? What if he has three heads? Does that make the message any less whole? Maybe we made it all up just to sell an idea. Is it any less true if we neglected facts? It's a book of wisdom, knowledge is optional. We know Jesus existed because other people wrote about him. It's not like his book just appeared one day. Or maybe it did? Either way, I'm a wizard and using all the tricks to save myself is sort of the whole game so I'm going to trust the texts that work, and that one has a ridiculously high success rate for me.

He was just a guy. That's the trippy part. People deity him as a man. That's goofy, he was a guy. The best guy, if you believe his word, but factually nothing special. You could be just like him. I can be just like him. People see the words but they don't hear them and they might hear them but they don't comprehend. He was just aware of how the world and universe works in physical and spirit and that awareness gave him leverage. He was a magus. Not even an impressive one because he wasn't here for that, he was here to start awakening awareness in others. Respect and Awareness and Humility. That's 99% of what makes a man great in spirit and that's the kingdom he spoke about. To be as children in a garden of light and wonder. I tell people I speak to "the spirits". It's usually just Jesus and the Holy Ghost. Or someone elses subconscious. This stuff ain't all that deep. It's all kind of mundane once you start noticing.

So like, The great plan is weird. It makes sense when you know it from the end but basically? It was always going to be Jesus, God. However, the alchemy calls for men to be their own Messiah. Well, it's because we are made to mirror God and replace Satan. Lucifer. That's why that whole fall happened. Basically. Envy. Pride.. whatever but, That's going from the beginning. From the end, it's always been wankershim. I mean. I had always been Him. Except we are also here and we need to fit in somewhere because we're part of him. Blah. Know ye not. Yer a gord, 'aery. Little g. My shit is bugs and angry varmints. Don't judge, you don't even know your domain. I'll sick the Fey on u. It's all fun and games until cosmic royalty calls in the gnomes. They know science and shit. 🤣🤣🤣 I wish, more people saw the world that I see. I have to act like any of this matters while actively praying for it to burn because I know the truth and I couldn't care less about the pregame anymore. If all sources be believed, I'm old as shit and bored.
