Hello loves. I'm doing a lot of Patreon-related bits this month and I'll want some input for some of it. In short: There will be several polls, of which this is the first.

Against all odds I've actually got a sponsor for the next video! Which made me wonder - would you want a special Patreon version of the video with the sponsor excised? I know that's normal Patreon practice but as I endeavour to actually make the sponsor bits interesting and fun*, I wasn't sure if you'd want to see it or not. It lasts about 3 minutes and is about art.

(*This one of the reasons I rarely get sponsors. That and I refuse to promote bloody RAID: Shadow Legends.)

My foot does actually hurt.

Not Susan.

But I want to be able to put in code ashens to get 50,000 silver and a free epic champion. That and I need you to explain how it is the most epic RPG experience of 2019.

I don't think it really matters all told - If it was the sort of Linus Tech Tips "sponsors" which are just straight advertisements with a brief segue that'd be different, but really if you're making the sponsor bits entertaining then getting rid of them just means less entertainment.

I thought that statistically, it's likely someone reading would have a hurty foot. And I was right!

Vincent Carloni

Just lemme know if one of the sponsers happens to be that weird Castle Hustle phone game. Actually? Don’t bother sponsering phone games.

Christopher Smith

I find it annoying if Patreons have 2 channels, I just tend to view what everyone else has. Can you not sell some more bags of stuff, since my Ashens keyring died and could do with another one to annoy people with.

I say leave the ad in the Patreon video and remove it from the general version. That way you won't get a million youtube comments saying 'The video actually starts at....'.

Loonie Lummox

Sponsorship inserts do not bother me, and less time editing them out means more free time for you! :D

GeekMeetsWorld

It was my toe, but not the entire foot

To enter code ASHENS on iOS: Hold down the home button until the app icons start jiggling. Press the red x that appears in the corner.

I couldn't agree more: more free time for Stuart -> happy Stuart; happy Stuart -> regular fun Ashens content; regular fun Ashens content -> we all are happy! :D Win-win really...

This is how I feel about Patreon. That and I generally dislike "Early access" to videos - that's not adding value, it's just withholding it from a general audience for a bit! Sadly the keyrings are long gone.

Talkren

I don't mind sponsorship adverts. My only gripe is when it's 1) Not something the person would actually use and 2) Very off theme for the channel.

I was offered one for some kind of hair restoring chemical about 3 days after I shaved my head...

Both my feet hurt, in fact, but when I get home and take off my work boots, the heel of my right foot always feels as though it's been severely bruised or something. It stays painful for at least the entire evening, but for some reason it doesn't hurt when I'm wearing my (big, heavy) boots. (I'm not currently wearing my boots.)

Cathy Collins

Honestly don’t care, I’m giving you my monies cos I want to support you- if you can make more monies through a sponsor I say good for you!

I slept wrong and woke up with both feet reddish purple and completely numb/tingling. Does that count?

Amy Banner

Do you get a per view of the sponsored video incentive or a general amount?

Paul Jacobson

As long as it's not flippin' grammarly i don't mind. Seriously did those guys spend thier entire marketing budget on YouTube ads?

Is it worse than the Betfair Exchange? If I hear Clive Owen talking about 'backing and laying' one more time I'm going to do some damage to my laptop.

I wish to express that my foot does in fact hurt, and that there's a 95% chance that I'll end up watching the video anyway, sponsor or not.

Anonymous

I don't mind a sponsorship ad in the video.

Ariyan G.

I had an opinion AND my foot hurts. Life is so unfair sometimes.

sibir

unsponsered edit would be nice, but i understand if it just makes more work for you
