Jake wasn’t foolish enough to believe that he had timed his return from the Hunting Ground so well that he only needed to be back for a few days before the Primordial of Life reached out to him.

Instead, they had likely been waiting for his return to begin the next phase of whatever they were doing. It had been made clear initially that the revival of the Fallen King wouldn’t be a quick endeavour, and Jake fully expected that they just needed him to continue the process.

As for the bow, this would only be the beginning. Dina had evidently reached out to Nature’s Attendant, who had gotten the ball rolling, and Jake hoped it would be possible to source some raw materials directly from the Primordial. Of course, matters likely wouldn’t be that simple, as Jake wouldn’t be capable of using something containing Yggdrasil’s Records as a mere C-grade.

Either way, time would tell. Artemis and Jake had headed straight toward the Primordial after the message was received, and it was quite evident the hunter goddess was even more nervous than the mortal C-grade. Jake was more excited than anything.

“Do you still get nervous when visiting Yggdrasil?” Jake asked as they went through a teleporter.

“You not being nervous is the outlier here, not me,” Artemis shook her head.

“I’m just wondering why,” Jake shrugged. “Like, what’s the worst that can happen? I doubt she would call us there just to harm us, so no reason to be nervous about anything in that vein. So the only thing we really could be nervous about is what she’ll think of us once there. Seeing as I reckon she already knows you quite well, as long as you act normally, what can go wrong? Just don’t say anything weird or start spouting your most batshit conspiracy theories that you really shouldn’t ever mention to anyone, and things will be fine.”

Artemis sighed. “You of all people should know that sometimes emotions can be irrational. This is one of those times. Also, now you got me curious about which insane conspiracy theories you’re hiding.”

“Ah, sorry, we don’t have time to go over all of them before we get there,” Jake answered cheekily, as with one more teleport, they were within the influence of Yggdrasil’s aura.

Once they were, the Primordial locked onto them both. Jake felt the subtle movements of space around him, and he didn’t resist as he was teleported one last time. Upon appearing again, the first thing Jake noticed was the change in the environmental mana. Right away, he knew they were back inside the Divine Realm of Yggdrasil.

Feeling solid ground beneath his feet, Jake opened his eyes and found himself standing in a meadow in front of a singular tree that looked like a miniature Yggdrasil. One that gave off the full aura of the Primordial.

Right next to him, Artemis instantly looked uncomfortable, making Jake unconsciously extend his own aura to protect her. She felt better right away and threw a thankful look Jake’s way right before a shift in the environmental mana caught their attention.

This mana gathered into a female dryad, embodying the aura of Yggdrasil. She looked at both of them before speaking.

“You came faster than I’d expected. Good. We are ready to move on to the next phase of the rejuvenation of the Unique Lifeform.”

With a wave of her hand, the tree in front of them had its crown open up, revealing a familiar-looking figure within. Jake’s eyes opened wide as he recognized the Fallen King’s body.

“Is that- “

“Part of the vessel,” Yggdrasil answered. “However, the true body remains the mask on your face. For now, at least.”

“What do you mean?” Jake asked with a frown.

“In the process of the rejuvenation, the Records of the Unique Lifeform were laid bare before me. I saw the connection that had been forced between you two, and the karmic linkage both of you wish to be rid of. This is an opportunity to do just that. Only should you wish for your fates to be severed, that is,” Yggdrasil explained before finishing off with an offer that Jake hadn’t even thought about.

In truth, he’d kind of forgotten the connection between himself and the Fallen King. It was an extremely one-sided bond they shared. One where Jake could forcibly summon the Fallen King to his side, snuff out his Truesoul with a mere thought, and the Unique Lifeform even found his own progress limited by Jake, not allowing him to evolve before Jake did. Worst of all, if Jake died, so would the Fallen King.

Jake had never liked that this connection between them had been forced. He was a reckless person by nature, one who liked taking massive risks for equally massive rewards. Doing that while the life of another directly depended on his survival sucked. Sure, it hadn’t stopped Jake, but it had crossed his mind at times.

For others, having a Unique Lifeform essentially bound to serve you would be something they would never want to get rid of. It was like having a pinnacle genius as your slave. To Jake, it was a horrible arrangement, though, and he knew that the Fallen King would have died sooner than it would have allowed Jake to treat him as a servant. Likely dying while trying to at least take off Jake’s head in the process.

So being offered a chance to sever the chains binding them... it was an absolute no-brainer.

“If you can make the Fallen King truly independent once more, please do so,” Jake said in a serious voice. “And if you need anything from me to make it happen, just ask away.”

Jake was fairly certain severing his connection with the Fallen King would have some negative consequences. No, he didn’t consider the fact that the Fallen King had once been an enemy and was an actual threat should he choose to turn on Jake. After having spent fifty years in Nevermore with the Unique Lifeform, he knew the King was an asshole, but he was also trustworthy. Perhaps more importantly, he wasn’t stupid and knew that if he and Jake had a proper fight to the death, it would end the same as their last death battle.

No, the true loss was right in front of his face. His mask. The mask currently contained the Truesoul of the Fallen King, and if the Unique Lifeform had to be fully autonomous again, it was natural that the mask had to go.

“I will need the mask you are wearing and your permission to manipulate it,” Yggdrasil said, exactly as Jake had expected.

Without any hesitation, Jake took off the mask and offered it up.

“Can you explain what you’ll do?” Jake asked, more out of curiosity than anything else.

The mask floated upwards, and Jake felt Yggdrasil prod for permission. Even as a Primordial, she couldn’t manipulate a Soulbound item without express permission from the user. It was a hard rule by the system, and unless she had a Transcendent skill or Bloodline to fuck with other people’s equipment, Jake had to give the go-ahead. Something he naturally did.

When he did so, he felt the consequences instantly as his mana pool instantly fell by tens of thousands of points, and his mana regeneration also suffered a severe reduction. Losing such a quite frankly overpowered item was a shame. However, it was a price Jake was more than willing to pay if it meant the resurrection of the Fallen King.

“This mask is the true body of the Unique Lifeform, yet it isn’t. He can exist independent of the mask, the vessel holding a perfect mirror of the Truesoul. Entangled across any distance, space, linked through the absolute power of the system.”

Jake nodded along, already knowing that. Well, alright, he knew the general concept behind why the Fallen King could technically both be on his face and floating around shooting golden force beams, as well as how there could be two masks at the same time.

“We shall exploit this unique power. This duality of soul. Before, the mask you wore was the true body, while the mask on the vessel was the mirror. This shall be reversed. The original mask will become one with the Unique Lifeform, allowing him to become truly independent once more, while I shall forge the mirrored mask for you.”

“Wait... you’ll make a new mask for me?” Jake asked, having definitely not seen that one coming.

“New? It can be viewed that way. The mask’s Records will remain primarily the same, though I shall add to it out of necessity rather than choice. Also, allow me to clarify. This is a requirement, not merely something done as an extra favor. When the Unique Lifeform originally mirrored his existence, the split was permanent. Perhaps it had always been that way... perhaps that was how he survived your encounter in the first place. When you destroyed the Unique Lifeform, you made the mirror become the original... and thus he found himself bound to you, as the mask housing his only remaining Truesoul was your rightful reward. When you then later used the Soul Renewal granted by the system, you conjured a new mirror once more, while keeping the original as your mask.”

Jake listened intently as it became evident that Yggdrasil had quite the insight into the history between Jake and the Fallen King, down to the existence of the Soul Renewal item. He did question how she had learned all this, but he didn't want to ask about it directly because he cared far more about the meaning of her words.

“So there will still be two masks, both containing the Truesoul of the Fallen King, but the ‘true’ mask will shift to be the one only controlled by the Fallen King?” Jake asked. “I just want to make sure that walking around with the mirrored version won’t afford me any control.”

“As you will hold the mirror, you will be able to destroy it and cause major annoyance to the Unique Lifeform, but you will no longer hold control over his life or death. The growth of the mirror will also depend on the original, not the other way around. If you feel uncomfortable with this arrangement, you can always surrender your control of the mask back to the Fallen King entirely. For now, I seek only to create a mirror of the original, thus completing the soul of the Unique Lifeform and allowing his full rejuvenation. What happens from there is none of my concern.”

“Alright,” Jake nodded and sighed. Yggdrasil was probably right. This was a matter he would have to discuss with the Fallen King once they finally got the opportunity, which would hopefully happen sooner rather than later.

“Very well. I cannot tell you exactly how long the full rejuvenation shall take, but during it, I will need to hold on to the mask.”

Jake nodded again, naturally having expected that.

“With that matter solved, I believe there is another to address,” Yggdrasil said.

As if prompted by those words, another presence descended upon the meadow. A portal opened up, and out stepped a familiar old man holding a staff with a flower at its end.

Seeing him, Jake smiled. “Hello there. Can I take a guess and say Dina talked to you?”

“How insightful,” Nature’s Attendant smiled in return. “Something about you needing a new bow and wanting to use a part of Yggdrasil to craft it.”

Artemis, who had been standing next to Jake and just seemed happy to be there, turned her head slowly and stared at Jake in disbelief. He didn’t see the big deal about asking that as he nodded.

“Yeah,” Jake said confidently. “You may not know this, but Yggdrasil was also a mythological tree back in the ninety-third universe before the integration. In so many legends and stories, there were talks of artifacts crafted from parts of the World Tree, and just imagining a bow using such material is just... can you blame me for at least trying?”

“I respect the gumption,” Nature’s Attendant chuckled. “And I do owe you a favor, don’t I?”

“Helping me get an awesome bow I can hopefully use for a long time, if not forever, would be just about the best favor I could imagine anyone giving me,” Jake said honestly.

His current bow had served him well, but compared to his old Apex Hunter bow, it was lacking. All it really had going for itself was extreme durability.

“From what I understood, you want it based on the Records of another bow you also possess?” Nature’s Attendant asked. “Could you show me this bow?”

“Of course,” Jake nodded as he took out his old friend. Summoning it, the bow that appeared looked worn and was cracked in several places, but it still remained whole enough to register as an item.

[Bow of the Apex Hunter (Legendary)] – A bow offered directly by the system due to Earth’s performance during the Treasure Hunt event. Once broken, now reforged, the bow is more durable than ever and has an even higher level of mana conductivity. This is a bow for an apex hunter who only seeks to challenge worthy foes and effortlessly strikes down those inferior that dare impede his quest. Increases damage done against foes dependent on level disparity – both lower and higher – up to a certain threshold. This effect is based on Perception. The bow is incredibly durable and will adapt to energy infused into it, beginning to take on its properties and empowering attacks using the adapted energy. Enchantments: Apex Hunter. Requirements: Soulbound

Reading the section about the bow having already been broken once and now being more durable than ever was honestly funny. A great juxtaposition to the now twice-broken bow that looked far from durable.

“May I?” Nature’s Attendant asked as he walked over, making Jake nod as the old man took the bow in his hands. Jake felt him try to inspect it with his energy, and he naturally allowed the god to do so.

A few seconds passed before the god smiled. “I understand why you want to keep it. It’s a potent effect and not something easily replicated.”

“Yeah, it definitely served me well,” Jake confirmed, looking at this old bow with nostalgic eyes. It had been with him in its current version all throughout Nevermore, which was already respectable, considering it was an item that couldn’t upgrade by itself like Eternal Hunger. Especially when one considered the stress Jake’s arcane affinity constantly put the poor bow under.

“Tonken, do you believe it feasible?” Yggdrasil’s voice echoed.

“I was worried at first, but if we use the Records in this bow as the base, I believe it’s possible,” Nature’s Attendant nodded. “It was directly granted by the system, and the conceptual complexity reflects that.”

“Good,” Yggdrasil said, finally turning her head toward the other goddess present. “Artemis, you are to assist Tonken in creating a bow for the Chosen of the Malefic Viper. As an archer, your assistance should prove useful, and you are in a prime position to bring the Chosen with you to provide input when Tonken requests.”

“Yes, Mother Tree,” Artemis answered, bowing deeply.

“Proceed. I shall call for the Chosen once more when needed.”

With those words, Yggdrasil’s summoned dryad clone disappeared, and the pressure bearing down on them was reduced. At least by a little, as Nature’s Attendant was still there.

“So, what do you need me to do?” Jake asked the second-in-command of the Pantheon of Life after a second or so of silence.

“For now... nothing. I’ll bring this bow back with me and ensure the seed I prepare can house its Records,” the old man explained. “Down the line, I will need you to feed the seed and sprout energy intermittently. That is to say that leaving for any Hunting Grounds isn’t recommended, as the seeds can be quite demanding, and the timing of when they are fed energy can have a high level of impact on the final result.”

“Alright,” Jake said, as he wondered something. “Say... how is Yggdrasil involved when you’re making the seed and all that?”

Nature’s Attendant smiled at Jake’s question before shaking his head. “I would think an alchemist like you had heard of grafting. We shall grow a small sapling that can serve as the body of your new bow, after which we will graft a piece of Yggdrasil directly onto it, allowing the Records to merge, creating something greater than the whole. That’s why we were concerned the Records of the sapling wouldn’t be sufficient to withstand those of Yggdrasil, but seeing this bow you gave me, and knowing who you are, I do indeed believe we can create something quite wonderful.”

Jake nodded along to the explanation, and after asking a few more mostly meaningless follow-up questions, Jake’s brief visit with Yggdrasil and Nature’s Attendant came to an end, Jake leaving both a bow and a mask poorer.

With what Nature’s Attendant had said, Jake also shouldn’t go hunting for the next period. Coupled with the fact he’d just gotten a lot of class levels, and the many subjects remaining on his to-do list before evolving, it wasn’t that hard to figure out what would come next.

That’s right, it was alchemy time... with a bit of meditation and quality time with Artemis sprinkled in here and there.

Happy Friday cliff all Edit: stand corrected. Not a cliff at all. Just a little ledge

MrKorlares

Lol, why u always rushing fast to be first?

Connor

Thanks for the chapter

killop

Hype title for the chapter

Unwillingmainer

Wow, a Friday without a big old cliffhanger. Are you feeling ok? Fallen King is on his way back and Jake is getting a new bow soonish. Makes sense he'd focus on alchemy for a while. Wonder if Artemis has any insights on Patheon of Life materials? And did we ever learn her profession?

Sylphie

REE!!

Loststar7

Thank you for another wonderful chapter. Happy Friday and hope everyone has a great weekend.

Zack Leach

Woo alchemy montage time. And more interactions with Maurice?(the name i'm calling the warpsnatcher in my head. Patent pending)

Calloway

Natures attendant is the best his vibe is so chill

jacob beaudway

Predicting it now, the bow will the be the first piece of divine gear Jake gets and will be totally friggin awesome once it’s ready!!

John Burton

I so want Jake to get on fixing his soul. It is like an itch I cant scratch

Blutako

Because we must thank zo-god for the amazing story he has provided us with as fast as possible, also for me I can't always be first ast the regular upload time is around 5:20 am for me

BumAssBumAss

Friday cliff was pretty tame this time

Arrogant Savant

Zog didn't find the need to leave us on a cliffhanger with the monday cliffhanger and excellent thursday chapter.

Ed

And they will be gaining levels, as in nature's attendant and the mother tree. Interesting to see their reaction.

Samuel Granderson

I believe Zog said there were rarities between Mythical and Divine. Guessing it’s either Mythical or whatever the next rarity up is.

brjenness

Zog, it's Brent from cliffhangers anonymous. I noticed you haven't been to a meeting in a while and wanted to reach out. Give me a ring if you want to talk. No judgement, we've all been where you are. Hope you're doing great. Well, uh...talk to you later, if you want.

Nate Oppy

Surely he gets some heretic chosen levels for that interaction?

Alexander C Hyde

Doing that while the life of another directly (depended)dependent on him sucked.

Blutako

By the way br, do you just like every comment because 99% of the time I get likes on my comments it's you, and it's almost every one of my comments

Rewdan

Thanks Zogarth it’s been another great week. I hope you have an enjoyable weekend.

Xander

TFTC :) Have a great weekend everyone :) Since the title of this chapter is "Mask and Bow" will the title of the next be "Bask and Mow" with Jake sunbathing and tending to the lawn at his palace? :) Suggested edits: "*while* the life of another directly *dependent* on him sucked" should be "with" or "depended" "Fallen King could technically both be on his face *while* floating around shooting golden force beams," from context should be "and" "allowing the *Record* to merge" should be "Records"

C0bra$

Thank u for the story

Eric Shivak

TFTC. I second the name Maurice for the Whipsnatcher. He's the Gangster of Love!

Brian Katula

I thought he had already handed over the mask. Wasn't that the reason he went around without it at the hunting grounds

Kristoffer

No, he took it off when spending time with Artemis and just forgot.

Cyranosaurus

I do like him! I always get that hot girl with a really nice dad who is great but you know will kill you and bury you behind the garage if you are a jerk kind of vibe though🤣

Cyranosaurus

These endings are better than cliffs! Excitement pulling us towards the new week!! There is so many “seeds” of story that are ready to be explored now!

Phoenixdrop

Well this will be fun can’t wait to see what that bow looks like once this is done but I also can’t wait to see his upgraded meditation skill as that is set up to be one of his most important skills as it will directly allow him to start strengthening his soul and therefore strengthen his divine realm early honestly after seeing that event horizon skill I feel like that is going to end up becoming very integral to his divine realm once he’s a god or he can integrate it into his soul space like from the skill description and just the concept as I understand it Jake’s event horizon is essential the hardest challenge he can see at that very moment of his class and once he overcomes it a new event horizon eventually forms or becomes apparent and he can see farther so it’s even farther away and I feel that that concept is going to be core to Jake’s entire path from now on

dash w

Thanks for the chappy

Burkes

Cliffhanger (Divine): impose your will upon existence itself, forcing your readers into a state of clinical depression for 2 days, before the universe once more flows onward. This skill may be used once every 5 days.

Will Murry

I'm so proud of you for not leaving on a cliffhanger

Gabe Stankiewicz

Thanks for the chapter my man! It’s so wonderful to read these almost every day. I’ve even started re-reading the oldest chapters and not immediately reading the new ones so by the time I get through the hundreds of chapters, I have like 40-50 new ones to dunk my brain into and read!! Thanks for all you do man, you give me and I don’t doubt thousands of others a wonderful window into another world that we can sink our collective consciousness into to get away from all the shit going on in the “real” world. Anyway, thanks again Zogarth! You’re the fucking man, man!

Ty Cooper

Lol the mention of just getting levels cracks me up. Artemis' reaction to using Ygg as a base for the bow, priceless. I am just wondering how many levels he will get just from receiving the bow. The occasional level just for owning and using it, maybe even some when other gods see it and he explains it's origin. Lol too funny. I like how Nature's Attendant made sure to add Artemis into the crafting. I think she will leave some good records in it related to hunting, but i think he did it more for Artemis' sake. I think she will get lots of records from everything Jake destroys/fights . Is anyone else believing that the first battle with the bow will be to kill a dragon? That is my guess. Tftc!

Victor Desantiago

Interesting, For Artemis participating in the creation of the bow would be great for her records along with taking part in Snatchi evolution. It also will tied her up more to Jake . Her presence resistance should have also increased. I am actually looking forward to seeing her go up to god queen.

Fdrugc

Tftc, have a great weekend

Real

*This skill activates every 5 days with a 95% chance Divine Legacy skill of the Fatemaker of Creation- Zoggy

Ty Cooper

I am wondering if he will fix his soul before making super kitty

Colton Horton

Wait, what? Not a cliffhanger!? Imposter! Who are you and what has e you done with Zogarth!?

Spencer Miller

Jake is really getting a good assortment of growth items. That said, I really appreciate that many of them work in different ways. The necklace needs to be upgraded by a crafter. The boots have so far used record-unlocking items. Eternal Hunger grows from fighting. The mask grows with the Fallen King. His arrows are conjured, growing with him. His cloak appears to be semi-permanent now, too, though I forget how it said it will grow. Heck, even the Soulflame Cradle can be considered a growth item that will eventually be permanent. The quiver's details are escaping me, but it and the gloves are the only items I can think of that technically still get replaced. I like this all a lot, but I am a little concerned what it will mean for loot going forward. What is left?

ButterflEye

So this is definitely the seed duskleaf and natures were struggling to make huh

Thenais

such conceptual cliff. there is no cliff but the idea of a cliff. it's all the more present by its absence.

Staudi

Tyftc!

Ctrl Alt Dust

Is there no cliff because there will be no chapter on Monday? :D

Skarpi

Considering how hyped up true dragons are. I think Jake would peak C grade (Level 349) when killing a B grade true dragon. Just to show us how big of a deal that is. Could be wrong though

CocoaBleu

Am I the only one who can’t wait to see The Fallen Kings reaction upon regaining consciousness in the Pantheon after having been revived by a primordial god??? I wonder how long the revival will take and how he will react when he realizes he has his true soul back and if Jake will still get the mana boost. TFTC

Kristoffer

He still has normal armor and parents as well, but I think that's about it. No we both forgot he also got some nice rings, one from the Altmar empire and one from the world wonder back home. I guess he will have to visit the Altmar empire at some point in B grade to replace one of the rings. The nanoblade katar from Arnold is also getting replaced... By a better made version, with almost no changes other than the grade xD I also think he will need to replace his cauldrons, but that might not be before he reaches godhood. I think that should be everything, when combined with what you listed.

Tom

Glad to get the ball rolling on both the bow and the FK. Gotta love both NA and Yiggy although they both have reasons to want to get give back to Jake (returning the favor for the gift villy gave them), they seem genuine

Sprightly Ebbie

I would imagine Monday's chapter to be about our favorite sylphian hawk, that's right Sylphie aka Ree. Her encounter with the sylphs should be interesting and maybe catch up with the Sword Saint and Dina. Then Miranda and earth. Ohh and maybe just maybe some Jake Juice ritual with the warpsnatcher that would create a new or powerful entity/variant and would have all the factions of the multiverse begging for Jake to come "pay" them a visit.

Vega

Oh man, completely forgot his current bow was made by Maria, and wasn’t the System-made one. Glad he still has a spare he can use. Maybe he can even use his Jake Juice on the sapling, that would be awesome. So many peak-tier collaborations on one bow, Yggdrasil, Nature’s Attendant, Artemis, the System, Jake. The Records on this one item will be INSANE. Maybe Vilas will get in on this too in future bow evolutions. Thanks for the chapter!

Aury Thio

I would love for the next chapter to be a conversation between Artemis and Jake about how he shielded her from the primordial pressure. And maybe act as the spark of insight she needs to progress in her divinity. So Jake doing his special Jake "juice" thing

KenTX325

When we get back to Earth, I want someone to give Miranda problems and have her unleash Draskil and Scarlet on them. Maybe throw in some Dragonkin, Vampires, and Sandy. Make an example for the rest of the Galaxy.

SCHWING PAPI

Alchemical SCHWING

KenTX325

This is where he should use Jake Juice. An upgraded Fallen King and on a sapling that will become a great bow. Also, benefiting the 3 gods involved with records.

KenTX325

Bet he takes a new name. Maybe desolation powers. I bet he is also aware of Jake’s actions like last time he revived.

Mat

I don’t think it will work on the Fallen King. He is his own origin so they is know to push towards the origin

Bookreader97

I hope the fallen king comes back with a massive grudge against the moon b grade. Would be an interesting 1v1

Phasmatic7

Thankies for the chappie zogie

Tom

Why would he have a grudge vs the ghostvine?

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

Chicken God

Wouldn't that be an issue though? What is more orginal the the records of a primordial. I dont think jake wants another pallette incident

Exaiter

Holy crap that's gonna be a fucking dope bow

Christopher Robin Sævre

Hmmm.. I can’t be the only one thinking about Jake possibly feeding his bow with origin energy am I? Like if you use Yggdrasil and make a sprout and feed it Jake juice then the seed seeks the orgin, being a primordial. Or don’t that work, no maybe not or maybe he could get a sentient bow, like BoBo has. That sounds cool actually. #TheLivingBowBowie

Christopher Robin Sævre

Poor FallenKing died twice and now has to be named TwiceFallenKing, hope someone kills him again thus making him thriceFallen, has a better ring to it

Numbzy

No, I'm pretty sure that's everyone's thought on the matter.

Boomer

#LivingBowBowie!

Boomer

I bow worthy of blowing up the moon!

Jeremiah Lambert

It is some kind of or variation of/on Beast tamer. Read back on yesterday's or the day before.

DirePants

We’ll name the bow David Bowie the Giant Slayer. Serious Big D energy. 😂 See you all next week!

kinglemur

Dude do some Jake juice in the bow for some extra fuckery

Phil Ritter

Quite the good match to the twice broken Bow imo. Imagine he makes a Bow out of the Wood from the Fallen King down the line

Phil Ritter

So he now gets a bow that probably surpasses or at least somewhat matches the potential of Artemis Bow judging from her reaction. Jake really made it out of there like a damn robber getting all the benefits thanks to nepotism

Dalton Service

Last time he used Jake Juice on something with the records of a primordial it didn't go too well for him 😅 he'll have to wait on that i would assume

Arieh Sochaczevski

Thanks for the chapter! I’m disappointed, though, with not getting a reaction scene from Artemis re: heretical favours. I hope that’s upcoming.

Andrew K

I'm hoping that between the presence shielding and the Yggdrasil bow, this chapter's events finally are enough to trigger a conversation where Jake and Artemis finally really discuss his the full extent of his heretical status instead of dancing around the topic.

Jabirttok

I hope he gets a new name like The Risen King or Eternal King. That would be dope. I can't wait to get this sweet sweet bow action i crave weapon upgrades.

Nick Elliott

It's my absolute fave when there's a couple of paragraphs at the end from a different POV added some context or outrage/shock/awe

Nick Elliott

"That’s right, it was alchemy time... with a bit of meditation and quality time with Artemis sprinkled in here and there." .. And time to take Artemis on a dinner date to two C grade hunters house.

Keeb

Thinking about the lack of the mask makes me feel like Jake is walking around naked now

Vega

Weapon upgrades are as if not more exciting than skill upgrades imo

Alexander Elliott

Why am I only now seeing that Natures Attendant is just Natures Phrophet from Dota 2

joel southard

Thank you for the chapter

Ihor

1) It's been a long time since Jake made a Grimoire. He could also share it with Artemis so she has her own Heretic-Blessed. They both would get a ton of records from that if nothing else. If they can find a compatible user for that. There was a mention of that in the one he made in the house of architect. 2) Am I the only one who entertained the idea of Jake having more than one "drop of blood". Like he could have Artemis give him her's and link it to his archery skill the way Villy's is linked to sagasity. Or he could use Villy's for more than just sagasity. Especially with mythical meditation upgrade coming up his ability to manipulate records in his soulrealm and upgrade skills with that should improve considerably, no?

AetherBoye

So the mask has basically been a phylactery this whole time

AetherBoye

He needs to feed the seed that will become his bow? I can only imagine what he will feed to with! Surely not the Jake juice, no, that'd be insane! (I hope he does though)

WaxDinosaur

Ooh, a drop of blood from Artemis for his archery skill! I love that concept

Sarianne

Guess that all of us expecting a major cliff for today makes it less surprising that we are finding ourselves in a valley instead with a nice new mountain to start climbing monday

WaxDinosaur

Idk that one seemed different? They weren’t discussing a failure that happened from grafting a piece of Ygg to it. Can’t remember exactly but I thought it was something else, kinda gave me the impression it’s something they’ve discussed and planned for a long time. Like god level long time, not a mortals view of a few years. Would be interesting though if Duskleaf or Villy knew Jake needed the bow and planned that though

WaxDinosaur

Nepotism is the most powerful transcendent skill out there. The only cost is possible loss of respect 😂

WaxDinosaur

Yeah that seems like it should happen sooner rather than later. Like, if that’s going to be an issue for her, better to know now. On the other hand, how fun would it be for Jake to surprise her on a birthday or anniversary or something with her very own heretic-chosen 😂

WaxDinosaur

Yes, please don’t let Jake forget about this like 99% of everything in his spacial storage

RnR_ RnR

Oh snap could this be a jale juice bow? How crazy would a sentient bow be?!

Richard Loveless

Our favorite Shimmerfurr Warpsnatcher didn't get a name.

Keion

lol I can’t be addicted like this if it’s gana have fillers like one piece it’s slowing down 😖

Brian Block

This isn't filler? It's a core part of the story where he would visit the pantheon of life and Artemis, get a new bow, and resurrect the fallen king. We've known about it for at least a 100 chapters and it will have major effects on the story going forward.

Yggdrysill was probably still amused seeing a c grade protect a god and the god being grateful

Bentao

Where is the new chapter? Did I miss an announcement?

Catrina

Maybe they will wait to name the warpsnatcher until after his evolution and his species changes with the help of origin energy.

Kt-x

Thanks for the chapter!

Peter Smith

Im assuming the next chapter is going to be king waking up.

Kristoffer

I think that will be a few chapters, unless we skip over the alchemy sessions.

Jonathan Campbell

I'm wondering if Jake has forgotten or is intentionally avoiding thinking about the fact he apparently MUST find a way to fix Palate of the Malefic Viper before he can evolve, as I would think that would ultimately be one of if not THE most important task before evolution to B grade!

Nùmenor

That is his main goal for upgrading the meditate skill so he is already working on it.
