“Oh, I have, and let me tell you, she’s quite something,” Villy said, seeming almost too excited as he prepared himself to tell Jake all about the dragon he’d found for his Chosen to hunt. This thought was only further amplified as the snake god cleared his throat and stood up while looking at Jake with a serious gaze.

“Are you ready?”

“Yes?” Jake exclaimed, very confused.

“Then let the briefing begin,” the Viper grinned as he teleported back behind the sofa and closer to a wall. At the same time, an image appeared on the white wall reading:

Dragon Hunting 101: Choosing the Right Prey

Jake could only stare as the Viper began. He snapped his fingers as the title disappeared and was replaced with bullet points, a picture, and…

“Are you seriously doing a slideshow?” Jake couldn’t resist asking.

“That’s exactly what I’m doing,” the Primordial said, clearly proud of himself. “Now let’s begin.”

“Do we really need a slideshow?” Jake still tried to butt in.

“Yes, now be quiet and let’s get started already,” Villy waved him off and cleared his throat once more, as he even went as far as to shoot a beam of green light out of his finger to mimic a laser pointer.

“Let’s start at the beginning. Dragons are monsters with scales that- “

“Villy,” Jake cut him off, throwing the god a glare.

“Ugh, fine,” the snake god sighed as he started skipping slides. About three dozen slides later, he finally reached the point where this representation would become relevant.

“Here we go, your target. After a lot of research and looking about, I decided on this one as I truly believe she’s someone you’d both find decently challenging and deserving of being hunted down,” the Viper began as he showed a picture of a draconic woman.

“Her name is Yrelstromoz, a former member of the Lumenflight. She’s a few hundred years old and reached full maturity, and became a True Dragon about three decades ago. However, ever since becoming a True Dragon, she’s done nothing more than be a menace to everything and everyone she came across.”

Skipping to the next slide, Villy continued.

“As the daughter of two peak A-grade dragons, she grew up in relative wealth, even by Dragonflight standards. She found herself wanting for nothing, and seeing as both her parents were rather protective, she didn’t get many real-life experiences either, but led a mostly isolated existence.”

Jake instinctively held up his hand, making the Viper nod towards him, allowing the question.

“If she was raised like that, doesn’t it mean she lacks actual combat experience?” Jake asked. He didn’t doubt that dragons were still unbelievably powerful, but if she never learned to fight, he feared the experience wouldn’t be very satisfying.

“Alright, let me just quickly cover that,” the Viper said, skipping forward a few slides more before clearing his throat. “As a member of the Lumenflight who was born a True Dragon, she was put through their rigorous education from a very early age, covering the mastery of magic, combat, and many other important skills. So while it’s true she doesn’t have many life-and-death battles under her belt, she’s still more than capable. From what I gathered, she was even considered relatively gifted growing up, with her parents providing her with extra tutoring. In summary, she knows how to make use of her innate power. At least on paper.”

Jake nodded, finding that knowledge a little relieving. Seeing Jake had gotten his answer, the Viper continued.

“Now let me get to the part that allows you to justify killing her,” Villy said quite bluntly. “First, the sob story. Less than a decade before she became a fully fledged B-grade True Dragon, her parents were both killed in a dungeon. They were trying to break through their wall and reach S-grade, but failed and died for it. This left Yrelstromoz feeling less than happy, especially when she learned why her parents had tried so hard to evolve.”

After rapidly going through a few more slides, the Viper showed a picture of two dragons, one of them looking sad and the other posing proudly.

“While the Lumenflight provides brilliant education to dragons before they are fully grown, after they reach B-grade, it’s mostly up to them to keep progressing. However, if the parents are powerful enough, they can still leverage their influence to assist their whelp. In an attempt to evolve and thus become more influential, her parents desperately tried to push past their limits even if they weren’t capable enough.”

Jake slowly nodded along, still having a very hard time seeing why he would want to hunt down the grieving daughter of two dragons who’d tried to do everything they could for her.

“Some questions for the students! If this happened to you, and your parents died in an attempt to give you a better future, what would your response be?” the Viper asked.

The room got silent for a few moments as Jake genuinely believed the question was rhetorical, but the Viper was just staring at Jake until he raised his hand with a sigh.

“Yes, you, how would you react?” the snake god said, pointing his green laser at Jake.

“I would obviously be sad and then probably want to prove my parents’ efforts weren’t in vain by proving to everyone just how powerful I could become, all with the hope of one day surpassing them?” Jake said, not sure if that was the answer Villy was looking for.

“Interesting,” the Viper nodded. “Yeah, would it surprise you that this wasn’t Yrelstromoz’ reaction? In fact, I would argue her reaction was quite the opposite. After her parents died, the first thing she did was make a fuss about her inheritance. The second thing she did was waste most of this inheritance on useless things. As for trying to get stronger… yeah, fat chance.”

Okay, Jake was beginning to understand she perhaps wasn’t the best of people, but so far, Jake had heard nothing outrageous.

“After evolving to B-grade – something she did merely by being alive – she stopped trying to grow entirely. The power boost from becoming a True Dragon truly went to her head, and she evidently had no desire to progress further from there. In fairness to her, even a newly evolved True Dragon is still a True Dragon, and in the grand scheme of the multiverse, she is indeed powerful and could live a comfortable life if she so desired. I’m not even going to ask if you think she decided to live a quiet life.”

Jake nodded along as he had a strong feeling his justification would come now. The next slide confirmed that suspicion. It depicted a large crater with several holes and deep fissures covering it.

“Having decided to use some of her many funds to travel, she went around her universe living like a spoiled rich kid. One of her favorite pastimes was gambling. Thing is, you can’t be good at gambling and the house always wins… unless the loser is a True Dragon with bad emotional regulation. At that point, the losing dragon might get angry enough to blow up an entire city, killing a few dozen million at least.”

Skipping forward to another slide, Jake saw a large scar burned through a city with everything melted down into a seemingly bottomless fissure.

“The first incident was excused by the Lumenflight, and the local small faction didn’t make too much of a fuss as they couldn’t afford to make enemies with a bunch of True Dragons. While Yrelstromoz certainly isn’t smart, she isn’t the dumbest dragon alive either. She knew to only throw tantrums and cause destruction in areas not ruled by major factions, or if she felt confident, she could cover up her actions. This is another such incident where she decided to unleash an attack on a residential neighborhood. The reason? I believe it was said someone asked her to “blow me” during an argument, and she did just that by blowing them up without a care for collateral damage.”

By now, Jake was beginning to really understand that this Yrelstromoz was a real menace.

“Next instance of her destruction… actually, let me just do a quick-fire round,” Villy said as he began going through the slides quicker, just allowing Jake to read the text on display. He had dozens of entries, making Jake’s face fall the more he saw. By the last example, Jake had one major question in mind:

“How come no one ever stopped her?” Jake asked. “Namely, the Lumenflight. You said she was a former member, right? Shouldn’t they try to rein in those that belong to the faction?”

“They tried,” the Viper responded, shaking his head. “Not very hard, mind you, as she only ever destroyed those too weak for anyone to bother making a real fuss. The only ones who tried were a few remaining family members of Yrelstromoz, but it was all to no avail. She did get plenty of warnings to stop her antics, but these warnings seemed to only make her mad and throw even more of a tantrum.”

“What made them decide to finally throw her out?” Jake questioned.

“She killed someone she shouldn’t have,” the Viper said, going to the next slide where a young beastkin was shown. “A group of young C-grade prospects from the United Tribes were out exploring the universe and went to one of the many neutral planets famous for having some good dungeons suitable for people of their level. She ended up killing the entire group of C-grades, and for the first time, she did so with the express purpose of pissing off the Lumenflight. The beastkin shown was the son of a demigod and even had a Divine Blessing. Needless to say, the United Tribes were not pleased, and having been done with her shit for a while, the Lumenflight fully tossed her out of their faction.”

“Sounded like it was a long way coming,” Jake sneered. “They should have done something more, and way earlier.”

“Probably, but they didn’t, and now she’s on her own,” the Viper shrugged. “As I told you before, the Dragonflight hates killing their own kind, but after she was expelled, they won’t create trouble if someone like you decides to take her down.”

Jake nodded, having more or less decided she was indeed a good target. In some ways, she perhaps even seemed too good a target. There was definitely still one thing bothering him:

“I don’t get why she acts that way, though. It just seems cartoonishly self-destructive and – while I don’t particularly like the word – evil,” Jake said.

“So, having been an asshole in the past, I can somewhat relate to why she doesn’t feel bad about it,” the Viper said. “As a True Dragon, she genuinely believes herself to be a superior being that doesn’t have to abide by any morals or norms when it comes to those she considers weaker. In her eyes, wiping out millions of F, E, and D-grades isn’t even something she sees as a bad thing. They’re just ants to be exterminated if they annoy her. Now, to defend myself, there is one big difference between who she is and who I was. Unlike me, she evidently takes pleasure in killing those far weaker, as it makes her feel powerful. Meanwhile, I enjoyed fooling and killing the powerful, while the weak dying was indeed just collateral damage. Never the goal.”

“You’re seriously telling me she’s killing random people to feel powerful?” Jake said, finding it a ridiculous notion. In his mind, the true way to feel powerful was to fight someone actually powerful and come out on top.

“And to feel like she’s in control of her own life,” the Viper shrugged. “Probably also why she’s been purposefully throwing a tantrum and refusing to listen to her remaining family. While I don’t wanna act like a shrink, I reckon she grew up feeling like her life never truly belonged to her. Now that she’s fully grown, she wants to act without any inhibitions and enjoy life. It just happens that her version of fun includes being an absolute menace.”

“I think I get it now,” Jake sighed. “Yeah, it definitely does feel like the multiverse would be a better place with her gone. I still don’t think her motivation makes much sense, but I guess some people just suck.”

“Yep,” the Viper shrugged with a smile as he skipped to the last slide. “Anyhow, this concludes my presentation of what I believe to be your ideal True Dragon target. She’s not too weak but not too strong either. Moreover, she’s unaffiliated with any major factions now, and even someone so hateable, I wouldn’t fault you for wanting to put an arrow in her skull. So I guess the only other thing I can do is wish you luck and remind you to approach her with all your preparations in order, as she won’t be easy to take down.”

Jake nodded as he noticed something. “Say, there’s a reason you didn’t include any actual details on her abilities and what kind of training she underwent, right?”

“Of course, I wouldn’t want to give you an unfair advantage,” Villy smirked. “If you want to learn any of that, you can do the research yourself, though I have a strong feeling you prefer to go without.”

“Can’t argue with that,” Jake shrugged. “Even if she does seem like a shitty person, I at least want a fair fight, and it wouldn’t feel fair if I fight with a dossier of all her abilities while she knows practically nothing about me.”

“Eh, pretty sure she will have a basic understanding of your abilities if she’s paid any attention to multiversal news in recent years,” the Viper shrugged. “You’re kind of famous, you know? Then again, she hasn’t proven herself the smartest or most thoughtful, so perhaps she doesn’t know you. I guess the only way to find out is whether she recognizes you during the fight.”

“I guess,” Jake muttered as he looked at the final screen of the presentation, which just depicted a picture of the True Dragon named Yrelstromoz with a target on her. She looked almost entirely humanoid, save for the two curved horns on her head and her eyes, which were definitely reptilian in nature.

Of course, Jake didn’t expect to fight that form for long. As the Viper had shown in all his visions, dragons were at their strongest when actually in the form of a dragon, and he had no reason to believe this one was any different. Knowing she was part of the Lumenflight, Jake also expected to encounter his fair share of light magic, which he was both good and bad against.

His scales had extra resistance to light magic, but due to Jake’s connection to the dark affinity, he was naturally more susceptible to light magic, as shown by the Great White Stag all the way back in the Tutorial. He also had what was pretty much an immunity to all blinding attacks, but he also knew that light magic tended to counter those that relied on speed, making Jake unsure if he could dodge everything the dragon threw at him.

Overall, he reckoned it was a pretty neutral matchup. Actually, thinking about it, if he had fought a dragon specializing in dark magic, Jake guessed he would have had an advantage, but besides that, most types of dragons seemed like neutral match-ups.

The more Jake thought about the upcoming fight, the more he felt excitement begin to bubble up within, and combined with his newfound growth in power from his sacred skill and the accompanying title, Jake felt strong enough.

Villy seemed to recognize Jake’s building excitement as the snake god smiled. “I’ll leave you alone for now. Make your preparations. Your prey currently believes she is in hiding and is purposefully lying low, but I wouldn’t dally too much, or she may be taken out by someone else or get herself killed by being too obnoxious in front of the wrong person. It would suck if I had to prepare another presentation.”

“I don’t need much,” Jake said as he stood up and looked toward where the lab was.

“Then get to it,” Villy smiled before disappearing.

Jake nodded as he telekinetically lifted his forgotten bottle of beer off the table, chugged it in one go, and placed it back down with determination. It was time to make a new batch of poisons and potions, and once they were ready…

It was dragon-hunting time.

Jake is a bad friend. Let the god have his fun with slides for Villy’s sake.

Chris

Let him do his PowerPoint😩

Unwillingmainer

A great target! He might even get a gift basket from the Lumenflight once he finishes her. And I have to ask, are Powerpoints already a thing in the multiverse or did Villy borrow that idea from Earth just to fuck with Jake?

Rewdan

Villy is way to invested in the dragon hunt 😂😂😂

Rahsheem Reid

Yeah this is what I’m talking about!

GeneralBlack

So we all agree it will happen this Monday probably? Or at least the end of the hunt is

Catrina

What about villys questions for Jake?

Jesper Hansen

I really hope this won't just be a sob story, and the hunt ends with him winning, but not killing her, because emotional reasons.... Let's just have a hunt, and the slaying of a menace, sure she could have become that for good reason, but a menace nontheless

Hopeless Harp

Love the use of “Welp”

djthomp

Think of all the True Dragon lore we could have just learned if Jake had had a little more patience for the full sideshow.

Ben Cox

I'm really interested to see if she will realize who jake is before or during the fight with jake. Tyftc

Andy Swearingen

Hot damn! I thought he was going to max out his class and profession before taking on the dragon. I kinda wonder if this flight will actually count for some exp for heritic choosen as well because it is kinda heretical in a way

effigy

Ooooh gonna be epic, just hope to god it’s not a cliffhanger on Friday

James Cobb

Correction: finally reached the point where this representation would become relevant. Representation should be presentation

Xerecs

Or he will stretch the fight out to take an entire week and we won't get the conclusion until the week of the 27th. Note that I did not say that monday just sometime that week XD

joel southard

Thank you for the chapter

Xerecs

Honestly i'm expecting her to use the token she was given with 3 possible outcomes. No one shows up and she finally realizes she is truly alone due to her actions. Her Aunt? shows up but does not intervene. Her Aunt? Shows up and does intervene on her behalf and ruins the hunt.

Darthnarciss

Ah, but the annoyed response was the intended fun. Don't tell me you've never purposefully annoyed someone by doing something you yourself found annoying or pointless, specifically to irritate someone else? If you haven't, you should, it's one of the most childish and amusing things one can do.

Fyrtue

My bigger focus is what will happen when she's getting clapped and reaches out to her aunt.

BumAssBumAss

Was kind of hoping Jake would do some time dilation meditation, but considering this is becoming time sensitive I guess not.

Rewdan

I'm so excited! We're going on a dragon hunt I'm not scared!!!!

Tom C

Not a fan of the lumenflight, really hope Jake killing this crazy dragon will lead to more shenanigans in the future. Eventually having Jake needing to teach them a lesson. They had a responsibility to her and they failed and millions paid the price. They suck! TFTC!

Kyle Stitt

Heck ya PREP montage! Que the music!

BerciTheBeast

Doesn't Villy still have a snack for Jake (the Yip flesh candy)?

Samuel Granderson

Yeah, especially for a creature hundreds of years old. Dragons must have insane natural lifespans since their natural rank is higher than humans’.

GrimeyPu

Multi phase fight incoming. I do wonder if she'll be a harder fight than el cheeto.

Biggy smalls

They were going to turn it into some sort of crafting session. Likely combining the EH loot drop as well.

aforce05

It’s stated in the earlier books that concepts are harder to meditate on while in time dilation well expect for the concept of time dilation

Kt-x

Thanks for the chapter!

Rui

he won't kill her. it will be the newest addition to his "harem".

David Hall

WOO! Soon we find out if Yrel(W.o.W. reference?) is food for Jake's path or will fill th tsundere role for the list of women that float around him.

Dan

And on top of all his other preparations, he also has his Event Horizon to try out. This is gonna be an exciting hunt!

Skarpi

This Friday cliff is going to be so bad

Blake N.

I’m guessing she’ll be harder to fight if you look at pure stats, but won’t have as many tricks up her sleeves. Cheeto was a peak genius with several levels on Jake. This is a peak species with several levels on Jake, but not a genius

Alexander C Hyde

“Ugh, fine,” the snake god sighed as he started skipping slides. About three dozen slides later, he finally reached the point where this (presentation)representation would become relevant.

Blake N.

How is it heretical? He literally was told about it from his god

Vega

Villy’s avatar spent a good amount of time on those 36 slides Jake made him skip! For once, I’m truly starting to believe Jake is evil… That said, it really is nice of Villy to go out of his way to find a True Dragon who (dis)appealed to Jake’s moral code. Thanks for the chapter!

greg belokopitsky

Watch this true dragon fight jake and fall for him because she likes his power, and realize she has been wrong come to team jake. Probably wont happen but it would be funny, like Tatsumaki from one punch man.

David

Why has the demi god not killed her

Blake N.

I think maybe he was pranking Jake over his recent teaching experience

Alexander C Hyde

“Interesting,” the Viper nodded. “Yeah, would it surprise you that this wasn’t Yrelstromoz’(s) reaction?

Koof Tron

After getting beat up by Jake and some hilarious exposition she agrees to be his mount as penance for her transgressions thus Jake now has a dragon mount and can go with Artemis and her divine mount through the galaxy in the future!

CT

S ranks don't go around killing B grades. This "logic" established multiple times. Most likely/expected action would be S grade to contract B grades to take her down.

CT

What do you guys think ? event horizon skill usage is on this Friday cliff or the next one ? :)

DeAndrea H

Ha! I loved Villy’s presentation. And he even tried to use good teaching practices! I find it really interesting how high Villy’s EQ is when he would probably describe himself as wholly unempathetic.

Lando Rang

I wonder what happens if in her last moments Yrel activates the medallion given to her by her relative who is a stronger B-Grade if i remember correctly. Will Jake fight this other true dragon too or be forced to flee/negotiate/flaunt his status?

DeAndrea H

Again, with Yrel being described as a menace. It’s wild that in the multiverse “being a menace” means you’ve killed AT LEAST a few million people who totally didn’t deserve it. Also, way to ruin your family legacy. Born to two Peak A grades only to stagnate at B grade, killing D grades only to eventually be killed by a C grade.

Gabe Stankiewicz

Thank you for the chapter!! I just love the way Villy uses pre-system earth tech to tease Jake like laser pointers and unnecessarily long PowerPoint presentations lol There hasn’t been a single chapter of this entire series that I was just slogging to get through. Every single line has me hooked which not even books like game of thrones or lord of the rings could do when I read those. It’s insane how well written this series is compared to the internationally famous ones are. I can’t wait to see Jake finally take down this true dragon, it’s going to be a 10 chapter masterpiece!!! 🙏🙏🙏

Biggy smalls

No. Jake’s killing her. He already has Sandy. The best Transit system in the multiverse.

DeAndrea H

Based on the scene we read with the aunt, I don’t think she’d be willing to defy the Malefic Viper or fight his Chosen to protect her exile niece. I think it’ll be more like the Dragonkin that Villy punted into a swamp after destroying the guy’s arm. That Dragonkin contacted his A grade uncle and after the uncle realizes what happened, he basically heavy sighs and we never hear anything further about it. And that guy was in good standing with his flight.

Pretzel Warrior

Dumb question has Jake always been able to use telekinesis or is that new im blanking if he has done that before

Assault1217

It would be funny if the fight ends up being so underwhelming for Jake that he decides to not kill her (he would have Villy or someone do it) since he wants his first true dragon kill to be extremely special.

STAsi0 23

Can you become god while being for example A grade ? Is is at all possible?

Orod

If I remember correctly, Jake asked the system guide and it said yes. But he needed to use a whole lot of credits. Villy also said it would fk up his records as they will not have substance to them.

Sylphie

Ree!!

Siethrobo

The light magic is going to make the fight challenging even if she's not the best fighter.

InfernoDroid

If my friend made a slideshow for me, even if I wasn't interested I'd watch the whole thing because they took the time and effort to put it together. I know it was just a joke from Zog, but Jake was a bad friend for that 😆

Jeryd Greer

Alexandre8901

I can’t wait! It’s been a long time coming! I mean… everyone must be so excited to finaly witness Jake killing a true Dragon! This is always the best part!

Posiden 300

This fight with the Gate in the same book will be epic.

LemonPerson

Curious to know how Jake handles the dragons body once she's dead. Will he use it for himself, return it to the Lumenflight or give it to the Beastkin to show their families she has been dealt with?

Starkly Glim

Love the slide deck! Every so often there's a call back to the fact that Jake was some sort of financial analyst, and the moment when he picks a true dragon to hunt is kind of perfect, especially because Villy's using it to tease him. Dozens of slides on what a true dragon is? Those existed only for scrolling past purposes.

Lemonsqueezy

Would actually be quite on par with what his capabilities in fighting are, since he gets tremendous boosts from sneak attacks. I am sure Zog won't make it that way though. He will either lose and come back later to win, humble the dragon into submission changing her life and ultimately become an ally to Jake, or go over-board destroying herself and everything around her (kind of like what Ell'Hakan ended up doing). Might even be some epic battle that ends in a draw or Jake kills her and acquires some epic new skill or upgrades one. I am sure there will be some kind of backlash from the some of the other dragons (like her aunt or whatever), but will be quickly squashed because of Jake being Villy's chosen. I expect the battle to be next week, with Friday leaving us on a cliff hanger halfway through or at the start of the battle. My hypothesis is the next couple chapters will be Jake making the poison, a POV of Yrelstromoz (maybe even learning someone is out for her, or her aunt telling her that Jake is coming for her), then Friday will be the battle (some back and forth dialog, the testing each other's capabilities). My other thought is that the secret faction trying to kidnap Jake will interrupt the battle using Jake being weaker without back-up as a chance to take him again.

Andrew Massey

TYFTC! So I was thinking, If Jake’s gets extra bonus/speed from shot distance, would it be cool if his opener for the dragon was shot in space above the planet toward the sun. Then the Protean arrow slingshots around the star coming back and Jake guides it in for a huge strike. Then it gets closer he shoots slower charged power shots to obscure his decent and gives him an opportunity to call back Eternal Shadow and change it into to a Katar? Also, Zogarth feel free to use my idea :)

Luke

I thought Villy wanted to question Jake on stuff

Higher002

I thought Jake was going to consume Yip after he got his Palate fixed?!?!

Rathalosblood

He's probably doing the same as always. Let it lay there and just returns. But Villy always watching and expecting it, will take care of it.

A. B. Edwards

Jake finally going dragon hunting. And I hope we finally get to see the ultimate skill of his class, Event Horizon

doctordirt

But villy is a god so he didn't have to put any time or effort in at all

Rathalosblood

We all now that the dragon fight will take a few chapters. This is the perfect moment to stop reading for a few weeks, so that one can read the fight as a hole. But somehow i doubt that i can resist it.

Nairne

I had a similar idea... and it probably wasn't only me.

Nairne

Jake is notoriously forgetful about stuff in his inventory

Nairne

I know it's Jake we are talking about, but I think you are overestimating what a C grade can do, even one as overpowered as Jake.

Stephen

Probably gets used when she realizes she's about to lose and tries to escape. Probably at the speed of light.

BumAssBumAss

Zogarth forgot or Villy already asked, but it was all forbidden knowledge. Or Villy just wanted to know about what Jake experienced from his trip to the past.

MrEM4N

DeAndrea H

I’d have watched that slide deck. Villy, a first era primordial, probably has really good insight even when he’s obviously joking. Who knows when one of his jokes slides could have triggered a leveling inspiration?

Phil Ritter

So is there a chance the hunt will begin this week? That’s sooner than I expected. Question now is how long will the fight go. Will it be more than Ell‘Hakan? Considering Villys mention of the rarety the fight gotta be harder than back then

Hmm...Maybe the Dragon girl needs a little tough love and discipline. Can't remember the anime, but one had dragon that turned out to be really into sm after getting beaten up. It was weird and unexpected, which is something I can see happening to Jake. Just before he deals the finishing blow, the dragon girl call out "hit me again daddy" :P

Bruno Alencar

I imagine Villy as a very muscular African American with an Indian alchemist's outfit, who always walks barefoot and is full of gold and green jade accessories, especially in his hair, which is made up of many dreadlock-style braids, and is 2 meters tall and has eyes with green snake-like pupils and bracelets in the shape of dark green snakes.

So what about the DemiGod she pissed off by killing his son? and wouldn't the United Tribes also want a piece of her?

William WIlson

Honestly the demigod is probably fine with letting Jake hunt her as his chosen gift. Shoot along with the united tribes considering they didn't have a great gift for Jake besides the feather for Sylphie, something they probably think wasn't great. Also a demigod won't kill a b grade because it both escalates the conflict and it would give shit records. The demigod may want a b grade child to do it but would rather have the good gift for Jake.
