Christmas 2025 Announcement + Backerkit Collector's Edition Hardcover Update (Patreon)

Christmas and the new year are approaching once more, which means it’s also time for me to post an announcement/update of sorts! Why? Because I decided to.

First of all, I want to thank everyone for their continued support over the last half-decade. Yeah, it has really been that long, as I posted my first chapter on Royalroad in September 2020. A lot of people have been here since the beginning, and I hope you will all stick around for the next half-decade as well, no matter when you first started reading the story. Who knows, maybe we’ll even reach godhood by then! (disclaimer: no fucking way we are)

Secondly, as with the last couple of years, I’ll be taking time off for the Christmas holiday. I originally planned to take a break this Friday, the 19th of December, which is still the plan, but it depends on how the Patreon chapters for the hunter tier shape out. I’ll keep it vague to not spoil anything for those not of the hunter tier, but let’s just say that while we likely won’t get through the entire thing, I’ll try to at least get through it somewhat, stopping at a point where the cliff isn’t too bad. There will still be a cliff, don’t you worry about that, just not the worst kind. So, again, dependent on how things look, I may leave on Friday, or there may also be a chapter on Monday/Tuesday.

As for when I’ll return... probably right after New Year’s Eve. With how the dates shape up this year, January 5th seems the most probable. But we’ll see. As always, there’s no schedule.

With that out of the way, I also want to make an announcement. As always, I’m working on things behind the scenes, with some projects ending up pretty good, while others could have gone better (looking at you, Webtoon, though season 2 is substantially better, to the level of even being good, after I actually started talking with the new guy in charge and the people behind it seem to care).

One of those projects is what the second part of this little post is about.

Premium Edition Hardcovers Update

So, on to the shameless marketing of an upcoming project... do you all remember the collector’s edition hardback campaign I mentioned on Discord a while back? Well, plot twist: we’re moving it off Indiegogo and launching on Backerkit instead. I could go into how Indiegogo dropped the ball and whatnot, but in the spirit of Christmas, let’s not focus on the negatives! Backerkit also has advantages, including a bigger existing following from Aethon and Vault, who have done stuff with Dungeon Crawler Carl on there, so that should help get things off the ground. Alongside that, they also have Patreon integration, which we want to try out. All that comes closer to release, though.

If you were one of those who followed the Indiegogo campaign, you will still get the promised pin for free if you move over to Backerkit. Consider it a thank you for being an early supporter. From what I’ve been told, they are reaching out to everyone who backed on Indiegogo, so check your email for a note from BackerKit about activating your account. 

In case you missed the Indiegogo announcement (which, fair, I only really talked about it on Discord, which you should really be on if you’re reading this elsewhere), you can still reserve your pledge and get the pin by putting down a pre-order deposit. The project itself still won’t launch for a couple of months, but the more sign-ups beforehand, the more marketing the platform will put behind it. Algorithms or some shit, fuck if I know, all I’ve been told is that the more people throw in an email for updates, the better.
