Are we going to get to name the chickens? 😆 I'm throwing Cluck Norris, Henrietta, Abrahen Lincoln, and Amelia Egghart into the mix.

I've kept chickens for years. I'm looking forward to watching this in an 18th century context. Have you thought through whether or not you'll go into all of the ugly realities of chicken raising? I know you've had them before so you understand that you've just opened a fast food joint for all the woodland creatures! There's a reason that guns were such an essential part of farm life then, as they are now. By the way, as I'm sure you know, never, ever name the chickens! Anyway, I'm really glad you've taken the plunge. It's going to make for some great content.

What breed are they? Super news!

Chickens are a great addition to any property, unless prohibited by local laws and HOAs. We raised Bardrocks and Roade Island Reds at our residence in the park I was the resident Ranger of. Our daughters would go through the campground and pass out extra eggs they would collect each morning before school. The poop was used throughout the park for fertilizer. Make sure inclosure is buried at least a foot below the soil to prevent intruders and escapes. Chickens love to dig! So do raccoons, coyotes, feral cats, gophers, moles, voles and Lepricons.

I was thinking of adding chickens. Meat or egg laying. The Gardner at work said to make sure I get the correct ones.
