The Monarch Inn, while not the actual town hall of Cloverton (that would be the Guild Hall from our last art sample), it is probably much closer to an actual town hall for the citizens of Cloverton. Camellia owns and operates the Inn from her lovely couch before the fireplace. How she manages to keep an ice bucket filled with chilled wine barely 3 feet away from such a roaring blaze is one of the 7 great mysteries of Cloverton. You can find a variety of rooms, staff, and facilities in the Monarch Inn, and it has become something of a gathering ground not just for travelers and locals, but even misfits who don't really fit in anywhere, drawn to this place by the reputation of its owner and the distance it has from the heartlands of the great Kingdom.

Every set piece reminds me so much of Quest for Glory. Love it.

isn't this the inn i saw in the demo that has as its entrance an outward sloped stone path with no railing going around the edge of the floating island over a straight drop into the abyss? i imagine there must be very few drunks in this town, as a matter of simple survival.

Remember Rule 0 of Cloud Meadow: If fridge logic would mean that something horrible happens: Magic means it doesn't. IN this case, it's cheaper to use harpy essence to enchant a hover-spell net under the entire island to catch people moving too fast through it and move them back onto the island. Cheaper than paying for loads and loads of metal or wood railings that won't actually stop some of the larger and more diverse body types from going over the edge (and taking the railing with them).

so how do i know this wont e another breeding season? Really not into wasting my money for an unfinished product

Also as a supported is there an early beta or downloaded copy or no?

Annie Ace of Hearts

I love it when writers/developers actually think about the implications their magic systems have on the world and let that shape things instead of go "hurdur it's fantasy" I mean, if you have a spell for an ever burning flame that will never go out except when extinguished by hand and can never set things on fire... Why not use that to make cheap lighting for homes? Or use fire proofing spells on homes? Or water and fire proofing on books for scholars? Instead of staying in the dark ages, why not just use magic to better every day life instead of "fuck yeah, enchanted armor"

You're not paying for a finished product, you're supporting a project that is only about 2 months old and help it blossom into something better. They more it's supported, the more we can add on to it and the quicker we can do it. We have nothing to guarantee that this product won't abruptly fail as no one can predict the future. But the reason Cloud Meadow was made was to fulfill the promises that Breeding Season gave and we plan to keep to that promise. We have nothing to give other than our word and evidence with the livestreams on picarto of all the work we put in. Like all other Patreons on here, you never have a guarantee that they'll just stop one day. It's a risk we all take when we support our favorite artists. Not the answer you probably were hoping for but it's an honest one. Team Nimbus wants to be as transparent as possible and develop the best game we can with the amazing talent our team holds while also making sure Cloud Meadow keeps the features that appealed to Breeding Season backers. If you have any other comments, questions, or concerns, please email us at [email protected] and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. I hope this answers your question.

Cheaper you say... will there be an upcoming post about the economics of the floating isles? it would be rather interesting to see what market dynamics are created by such an alien terrain as this.

CloudMeadow

As much as your statement makes me happy Anny, mostly, we totally are handwaving the majority of the implications of magic.

Well if we are being honest here besides major performance issues which is of course inspected because you know this is still Alpha not Beta Alpha which means this is literally just a bunch of ideas smashed together with still no clear done deal. What we see now is available and being made now but who knows because the project is still soo young Nimbus can still just scratch the idea and go a entire new route. But they aren't as Paladin said their goals is to make the game that was promised back with BS years ago except better, and all honestly with what I been seeing I actually do believe that Nimbus will come through with the promise as soo far they have been pushing out soo much content at such a expedited rate that in the next few updates they are basically going to pass were BS left off. BS had lots and lots of time but they always kept scratching new ideas and wanting to revamp the art and animations that it was putting them to the point that there current and last version actually has less content then the version they had back in their first year. They could have just kept their original art and just tried completing the major parts of the game like the story and mechanics By between the 1st and 2nd year they could have had the story and all major features completed and the game basically done. Then they could have started revamping the art and adding in the hundreds and hundreds of animations that they had planned for every single combination they preached about having, but they didn't they tried doing everything at once which prolonged progress which then upsetting much of their supporters and losing any kind of hype train. Even if Nimbus didn't become independent, it would have take BS another 2-5 years to complete the game( unless they again decide to revamp for some stupid ass reason ) but by that time their following would have reduced by soo much that there would be no one to download the game if anything only a few people would pay for the game and then they would just post the game on other sites. I kinda went on a little rampage right there sorry but I was one of the original supporters so it honestly did piss me off remembering all of that but again Nimbus has so far not done anything that would suggest them doing the same mistakes as BS and it is still too early to tell but they honestly have my support, this is a game that has gathered a bad rep just due to BS's history so not that many people really have the morale for the new born child. Only time can tell but well idk im done here XD

Considering the uproar about BS, of course many people will not trust in Team Nimbus. However, I do believe with time some (hopefully lots :D ) people will realize that Nimbus is doing a great job, and that they're providing us with a lot of content. Also, the part that really lacked in BS is, team Nimbus actually responds to the fans, and listens to our opinions. I think it's fantastic! Anyways, there will be big expectations of Cloud Meadow, because of Breeding Season. But this game has a pretty realistic chance of surpassing BS (even though some people complain about lack of sex, *cough* 8chan *cough*). They definitely know how to pace themselves, they have a very committed team, and I see nothing but success from here onwards :D (unfortunately I cannot increase their number of patrons, I would if I could )

We do actually have the core parts of the game planned out and they're being put into the game slowly. As for other bits of the game, we have some ideas that we'd like to get implemented but it's entirely on backer support (eg- customization, more monsters, more story lines, more areas, etc) as mentioned earlier. Heath and myself have industry experience in designing games so we know it's better to have a plan than to just throw things in willy nilly and hope it works. Some things will change throughout development like dialogue for example and a few other things, but the skeleton for all intents and purposes is fairly solid. The game is just being done unconventionally which has it's own set of challenges. I think I can speak for the team when I say it's been a fun, challenging, and interesting experience. S-Purple, Alnairez, and Fuzzamorous have been going above and beyond what the average industry worker puts in. We have a great and dedicated team who only want to provide the best product we can deliver! And if certain people want more sex scenes they can help us reach our $12k goal for our second animator *wink wink nudge nudge*
