After we wrap The Boys S4, I'll be getting started with HOTD S2...FINALLY!

But what other show should I start alongside it? Looking forward to seeing what y'all pick!

Also, I know we typically kick off Mondays with a reaction, but I still need some time to catch up on filming. I ended up getting stuck in Denver for an extra day when our flight was cancelled haha. But more content will be coming soon this week!

I have a feeling you’ll really enjoy Barry. But I think you should keep going with peaky blinders if you’re enjoying it. Season 2 is my favorite and the show only gets better with the introduction of Tom hardy etc.

Please anything but ST:TOS. I have been seeing it on other reactor's channels, and man... it does not hold up. If we are going to start trekkin'... start with TNG. TOS looks like a high school play compared to modern Trek. Poor sets. Poor writing. Bad acting. And even the stories are not very intriguing. Forbidden Planet may suffer from some of that - but at least the story and sci-fi premise is A+.

The Bear first pick with Barry a close second. The Bear is much shorter both in number of episodes as well as episode length so easier to get through. Barry on the other hand is more lighthearted so a nice change of pace from all the other shows.

Just a heads up once again that X-Men 97 is essentially the 6th season to a TV show. You CAN just jump in and work your way through it, but it's 5 years of time travel, space aliens, government conspiracies, love triangles, clones and all kinds of other shit and it expects you to know most of that before starting. It doesn't hold your hand.

Continue Peaky obv. Definitely the bear afterward. I've heard good things about Barry. XMen 97 I couldn't sit through. The dialogue is so elementary. Meant to continue the original series which is its biggest strength and weakness.

I suspect another perspective could be that she has limited hours in the day and a need to be sure there's an excited audience for her content. The stuff I'm excited for rarely wins the polls either. It's a bummer, but I find folks need to find ways to get more comfortable with things not going their way.

Idk if this would ever be a show you’re interested in but if you’re looking for something short and fun, I recommend Gravity Falls on Disney Plus. There’s a lot of renewed interest in the fandom since a new book just came out but it my also be fun for Natmare season

She specifically said when she started PB that it was for S1 only, not committing to the rest of the series. She added it here to see if anyone wants to see her continue it. Makes sense to me. Personally, I'm not really digging the show that much, but would continue it if she did. I've heard S2 is very good. I’d rather she watch Barry finally or start something else like The Bear. But we’ll see.

DJL: One can certainly acknowledge the foundations upon which sci-fi rests, while also looking at it objectively and pointing out it's shortcomings. There are SO many better things I would like to see Natalie watch. Why fill her time with lesser offerings? And this, after all, is just my honest opinion. I would rather Nat watch a 2-hour documentary, once, to be informed on TOS and dive right into TNG rather than have her spend hours watching even 1 season. Again.. just my opinion.

The Bear would be so great! Phenomenal series that is a fast watch! Also, Star Trek Strange New Worlds would be a better fit as it is a shorter series but still feels like Star Trek. The biggest issues with that series and TNG is just how long they are for your to commit to. 20+ episodes a season is a lot.

Seasons 1 and 2 of Barry would be so good, particularly from Nat, especially the acting class scenes. Though I am really liking Peaky Blinders and I am hooked on that. X-Men '97 is just terrible.

I suspect a lot of people didn't watch X-men past the first episode and don't understand what the rest of us in that giant voting bloc now know. I'd be super excited if you were jump into any gaps you have in that golden age of prestige HBO like Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Rome and Boardwalk Empire. Definitely fits your palate and intellect.

Going with Peaky Blinders S2 here, The Bear S1 is the best of the three seasons but it drops off from there IMO. X-Men is fine, but feels tailor made for folks who have a lot of nostalgia for the original series, idk that it'd make great reaction content.

I agree. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is a great starting point. It is by far the best of the modern Star Trek shows (post-2015) and works well as a standalone. Yes, there are some references to what happened in Star Trek: Discovery, but I feel like they are not at all essential to enjoy the show.

I'm feeling this way about most channels. There's a huge switch to TV shows across all reactions. 2 or 3 shows at a time, and it's like... I don't even really like most TV. I don't like watching TV shows multiple times either. It's a commitment to content I don't want to make.

Star Trek OG is a tough vote. Not a whole lot of people have paramount+ and no one is watching ads on Pluto tv service. can you imagine trying to sync up with 4 ad breaks in between a 30 min show. Maybe replace it in future polls with a show that is accessible to most viewers.

Star Trek is great, and if you are going to get into Star Trek I think you should absolutely watch some of the original series. But you should absolutely not watch the entire first season. There are some amazing episodes in the show, and some amazingly bad episodes as well. There are probably 10, maybe 15 max, episodes of the original shows three seasons that you should watch and then it would be the 6 movies that follow that crew from the original show. That’s probably the best way to view the stories of the original crew now.

I am kind of with you. If you haven't seen the original cartoons, or have not read any of the comics the material is from.... even though this is super-hero fun - there's no nostalgia, there's a lot of questions with no answers, they have nothing to do with any of the movies, and it's really more kid friendly. Thankfully, they are short and it will only take a month to get through if X-men wins.

I don't get why people think you NEED to have watched the original X-Men series to understand or even enjoy X-Men 97. The series very much stands on it's own and does an amazing job at filling you in on past events without relying on those events for important story plot points. I've watched X-Men 97 with so many people, all ranging in X-Men knowledge and they loved the series and found it easy to follow. This includes people who have never read or watched any past X-Men media. X-Men 97 is very much designed around being friendly to returning fans but also people who have never watched the original series. Most people going into X-Men 97 have never watched the original series and the reviews speak for themselves on how well these people were able to follow the series without past knowledge and attachments to these characters. If X-Men 97 does win the poll and you do feel lost after the first episode you could always react to a short recap of the original series before watching episode 2. There's some really good recaps online going over all the important stuff. I personally think you'll be fine and adore the show for it's more comic accurate version of characters you know from the films while also introducing you to characters you've yet to meet while putting respect on certain characters who never got the chance to shine in the films. It's just a really good show that perfectly captures the soap opera feel of the comics. For people expecting a Wolverine focused show than you'll be disappointed as it's very much X-Men focused. There's no better slice of X-Men media outside of the comics. recaps are great but going into X-Men 97 100% blind would allow you to be more surprised with certain elements. It's up to you but I'd at least watch Ep1 first and if you feel lost or confused then you can watch the recap before going into Ep2.

We were all confused at certain times watching it .But it’ll all makes sense after your done with the season.They re-explain the lesser known characters during the season . And FYI Nat there a post credit scene for season 2 after episode 10 if it does win the poll.
