Hey folks!

As we wrapped up Agatha this week, it's time to pick a new show to dive into!

I've listed only 1 season for these, but if I do enjoy the show a lot I may make the executive decision to just continue with more seasons. I just need to allow myself some flexibility to choose.

I know many have said that certain shows are necessary to watch prior to Daredevil S3. That's honestly the reason I stopped watching because I wasn't interested in following that format. However, some have mentioned that I could potentially just watch a recap or a couple of episodes of The Defenders to understand Daredevil S3. Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below on this. (I assume the comments on this poll will get a little crazy haha)

OK you marvel fans! It's now or never! Time to teach these Star Wars fans who the TRUE fans are! Disney fans! Kinda sad to see Vox Machina not on the poll so it can get crushed again. (Just kidding LOVM fans! I want it to win someday too!) Seriously though - I'm really looking forward to the new Daredevil: Born Again series, so I hope Daredevil S3 wins. Even though I don't think Nat needs to watch it to watch Born Again.

Also wanted to add that New Rockstars put out a Defenders recap that covers the entire first season in less than an hour, if you want to take that route. The only real connective thing between that show and DD S3 is how it begins. Literally none of the storyline is carried over or connected in any way, iirc.

The defenders is only 8 episodes and you liked the characters of daredevil, jessica jones and luke cage. Daredevil season 3 continues right from how the defenders leaves off. Daredevil season 3 is way better than the defenders, but the defenders is still worth a watch. Luke cage was good but i get you dont wanna watch 13 episodes of that on top of everything.

I cancelled my subscription so it doesn't really matter for me. But am I the only one who thinks it's kinda a shitty move to not finish shows once you start them? I'd be fine with dropping a show you don't enjoy, but putting later seasons of stuff you liked on a poll kinde bothers me.

Daredevil season 3: I fully agree that a recap of Defenders is enough of a background to watch season 3. Even just reading a synopsis would be good enough, as almost all of s3's plot is fully unrelated but does have some context from it

Well this wasn't an easy poll lol Considering you've already covered seasons 1 and 2 of DD, I went with that option. Especially because Born Again is coming out next week. BCS is one of the greatest shows I have ever seen, so please keep that in future polls. Andor is so, so good. And season 2 is coming out soon (something to consider). I haven't seen Severance or Peaky Blinders, so can't comment on those.

Severance is the best show on TV right now. Better Call Saul is one of the best shows of the decade, but it is a slow burn. Andor is easily the best Star Wars show. Peaky Blinders is a really good, very entertaining period piece. Daredevil isn't bad but clearly the odd one out.

Watch a Defenders recap or read a synopsis (or both lol). I’m a big superhero guy but Defenders was just clunky. Some cool moments but not great overall. DD S3 is immaculate though and really gets back to S1 vibes. Dark and grounded

lol Severance is in a poll! But so is the highly requested Andor ... AND Daredevil S3… Well, I hope Severance survives going against DD (maybe 2nd place can just replace Invincible when it’s finished in a few weeks?) and I'm not at all against Daredevil, it's just that it's another 13 episodes and I think Born Again is like 18 episodes, so it's a massive time commitment. Anyway, thanks for including Severance in a poll but I wouldn't bet on it beating Matt Murdock.

You don't need to watch Defenders. Watching a recap or something will be just fine. Somebody probably already has a video with everything you need to know between season 2 and 3. In fact do a reaction to that video as well in case you have any questions about something they may miss or gloss over.

I think it's completely fine to just go on to Daredevil season 3 with just watching a recap. As fun as Defenders is, you don't really need to watch it if you can get caught up with a quick video or something. Though watching Jessica and Matt interact is great.

Natalie, i passed on voting on this one because i don't like any of them. But i'd like to suggest the Sopranos and Ash vs the Evil dead. Ash isn't just for Natmares since its 3 seasons, each episode is 30 minutes , so it'll go faster than u think.

Severance is an astonishing original work. Daredevil S1 is very of its time and I wouldn’t recommend S2 to anyone. Netflix Marvel was an experiment that ultimately didn’t work.

Severance must win here, S1 is very good, S2 so far is some of the best TV I've seen in years. Also, perfect kind of show for reactions where there's some mysteries, some reveals, some interpersonal drama, just A+ stuff. No shade to Daredevil but this was an easy vote for me.

Guessing she doesn't do Japanese shows because Japan doesn't have fair use laws and therefore is subject to copyright strikes at any time. Many other channels have gotten many strikes due to having anime content on it.

To be honest there might be a recap of the defenders in the "previously on Daredevil" part of Episode 1 of Season 3. Can't confirm but with the way Season 3 starts it would seem weird if they didn't add it

I commented awhile back on DD S3 and if you did indeed like the first two, then S3 is more than a must-watch as it enhances each character's story and the stakes they're facing, all with a mere fraction of the gore of the other two seasons. Know that you WILL be lost, storyline wise, in Episode 1 without the Defenders, but in a nutshell, it summarizes what happens enough to track. ( I watched S3 without knowing about that and had difficulty calibrating mentally with the story at first). By midway through episode two, all of that is mostly irrelevant as Daredevil carries its own story again. IMO, S3 is the best single season of a show I've ever watched. Yes, I may have raised the bar to an unfair level. I also do not think there is a chance it falls short of expectation.

Defenders is only 8 episodes if you want to watch it before leading into daredevil season 3. You’ve already met Luke cage in Jessica jones so the only member you’ll be in familiar with is Iron Fist and honestly that’s no loss. DD season 3 comes right after the events of that show and they do address some of the events and their effect on Matt but it’s recapped in the show itself to let you fill in the blanks but it’s up to yourself. Defenders also has Sigourney Weaver if that helps influence your decision.

I think its subjective. If you're wanting the show to be like Breaking Bad, then sure it can feel slow at the beginning. But if you want to learn about what makes Saul who he is, then things are happening very quickly right from the first episode of season 1

I love all of your reactions, however…. : I feel it’s a crime to yourself to include so many top tier shows within the same pole There are at least 3 shows here that deserve your attention and including them within the same pole only deprive yourself of their amazing emotional/directorial/cinematographical content when putting them against eachother… such as Severance, Andor, & daredevil, & better call Saul In my opinion ☺️☺️
