Ali D

Gattaca, please!

Adam Doyle

Donnie darko is not really sci-fi (at least not a traditional style) more trippy drama

Brant Campbell

I'm going to keep voting for Gattaca until it wins one of these.

Adithep_Jay

Damn, I don't know any of those movies 😅🤣 But Oblivion is a very underrated sci-fi movie. You may want to check it out one day.

Julia Burch

I have a feeling you won't like ACO 😅

Gavin Kinsey

All very good in very different ways, would not be disapointed by any of them. Maybe HHGTTG isn't quite up there with the others, but I still enjoyed it personally.

Berry

I will keep voting for Gattaca. Eventually we'll get there :) Also, one day, I'd also like to see reactions for the other 2 Paul Verhoeven sci-fi classics: RoboCop and Total Recall.

Troy

Voted for Gattaca.

Chris Biebel

I loved the Hitchhiker's Guide books and the TV series. The movie? Meh.

Mr. Bundy

If you did the Hitchiker’s old BBC series I’d be there for that in a heartbeat.

Edward Rahardjo

Donnie Darko is a mind trip. However I hope Gattaca wins.

Adeptus_Retardes

By God Gattaca will win one day 😂

Marcus

Need to add Dredd(2012) to your list if you haven't already. Thanks!

Eric Miller

Clockwork vs my son Donnie Darko? Say it ain’t so

Maia Wilson

Nope should be on this list!

Darryl Low

Happy Wednesday Nat. I think its finally time for some more Spielberg/Williams magic on your channel with CE3K, although I can see there's plenty of Unidentified Flying Objections to it in the poll already 😆 Maybe next time. Have an awesome day Nat 💛

Mastervodo

Replace Close Encounters and Clockwork Orange with Alita Battle Angel and Dredd. Much more fun movies! Or... if we are doing oldies - Forbidden Planet!

Gavinmc

Ha, anybody who picks Clockwork Orange (a great movie) hates Natalie. It is soooo not a Natalie movie. But Malcolm McDowell is perfect in it. And I could be wrong. It is also well done, just brutal and unforgiving. But I'm all in for Gattaca. I am very sure she would love that movie. The way it's filmed, the story, the cast. It is just an elegant movie.

Jimathai

same ones... lets gets some new choices after this.

JayF

I hope for your sake that "A Clockwork Orange" never wins. No spoilers but it's horrible IMO.

Walter Lopez

Donnie Darko is winning🤗😭😭🥹

Max

Speaking of sci-fi, I'm still holding out hope that we'll see a Star Trek reaction from you one day. If you put it in a future poll, I suggest that you just write "any Star Trek", and then, if it wins, have us decide in a separate poll what Star Trek content to watch.

Julia Burch

The book was fun to read in high school as a personal challenge, but certainly not something I'd turn to for entertainment

Jimmie V

Just for balance, ACO is a DIFFICULT film, not a BAD one... it's all about what you take from it.

David Olden

Close Encounters of the Third Kind on the poll? I’m gonna do my cinephile duty and keep voting for it!

Jason Gillman

Gattaca is one of the best sci-fi movies ever made. Easy choice.

Rey

Gonna go with kubrick for this one

FateMalone

Never heard of these

vlocke67

c'mon gattaca!

Michael Saville

Is Clockwork Orange really sci-fi?

Powers209

I was thinking, Sweet. Gotta a has 100% and with over 30 comments. Then I realized I'm the only vote.

Choof

You've never heard of Close Encounters of the third kind?

Wesley

If Donnie Darko wins, the theatrical version is the preferred cut amongst fans. The directors cut is just no good.

Jacob King

Let no one doubt my commitment to Sparkle Motion

Derder

.....let the commitment doubting of Sparkle Motion...BEGIN!!!

Steve Mercier

A Clockwork Orange is one of the greatest movies of all time...but it's not for everyone. Gonna go with Donnie Darko here instead...thnk you'll like that one more.

Thoko

I was initially surprised to see A Clockwork Orange listed as "Sci Fi" here. That is probably technically accurate for it to be in this list, but watching that film really makes me feel like it belongs in its own category.

Baron

If Donnie Darko wins and it looks like it is, after you watch the movie you should go to this website, it gives a lot of additional context to help understand the movie. When I originally watched the movie I was really confused then I went to the website that was made for the movie it made some more sense. Plus it is really cool to experience and if you did it as part of the reaction for the movie it would add a lot to your reaction. While it is promotional material for the movie I think it has some spoilers, so you may want to wait till after you watch the movie to check it out. But I think it would make awesome content and help explain the movie after you watch it. donniedarkowebsite.com

Troymk1

Same. It’s an amazing film. So many scenes that have become cinematic tropes.

David Olden

I saw the film in the theater when I was 16, and it made me a Spielberg fan for life.

mcegan

Sci-fi fans x Uma/Hawke/Law fans x watched this in high school bio girlies rise up for Gattaca finally please? 🫠😂

addnid07

gattaca is amazing

Mauricio Morales

Looper with Bruce willis or 12 monkeys also with Bruce Willis, would be a great watch. Both excellent sci fi movies.

Troymk1

Yeah I was quite young. My Nan took me if I recall. That screen going white and the music at the beginning. Just wow

Chet Brusk

There are no bad options here.

djKENTO

Really hoping for the director’s cut of Donnie Darko.

Daniel

Donnie feels like the theater kid choice while clockwork feels like "that" theater kid choice.

Billy B

A clockwork orange is a bit of a stretch to call sci-fi . But far and away the best movie in this lineup. As someone who likes violent movies I welcome this. Any movie i can watch “ as a family ,” or a kid friendly movie i pass on 99% of the time .

Analytical Guy

As much as I loved reading Hitchhiker's Guide books, and watching the cheesy 6-episode TV series, I don't think I'd recommend the movie. I certainly don't mind that Donnie Darko is in the lead.

thom phillabaum

I'm disappointed Zardoz and Barbarella didn't make the list...

Nick Mo

I agree that it might not be a great choice for Nat due to the graphic violence (especially against women), but it is one of Kubick’s best (after 2001 & Dr Strangelove).

Thomas Richter

Clockwork Orange should have won. I didn't like Donnie Darko 😂
