FIRST THINGS FIRST: I have seen where Robert Redford passed away. Yes, I will make a poll for him - but that will have to be after Hallobeans. I know that's in a while but it just do be like that.

I know we've already had our first Hallobeans poll with Ghost Ship and Bedknobs and Broomsticks winning and kicking off this year's holiday BUT THAT WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING!

Just an FYI - I got really sick on the queen Mary and I filmed out of order so Ghost Ship was filmed in room B340 but Bedknobs and Broomsticks did not get filmed there. I'll make a cheesy green screen of the queen Mary and explain all this in the intro but I just wanted to remind you of that!

I think I'm going to do several decades polls over Hallobeans. Hopefully we can find an even amount not older movies and newer movies through out the month! I will NOT be watching a TV show on Wednesday, that is for non-scary Hallobeans movies!

These first few polls might have a few more options than necessary - that's just for me to gauge interest! no wrong answers - you might see your favorite on a poll again!

PICK YOUR FAVORITES - MORE THAN ONE - THAT WAY I CAN TRUELY GET A SENSE OF WHAT YOU'RE INTO!!!!

So this poll is for 10/6 and it is a SCARY movie from the 80's!

We all need Ashleigh’s reaction to the end of Sleepaway Camp!

MechaGai

Great start so far!

Jordan Wyant

Have you ever seen Night of the Demons? That’s a pretty fun one

Liz Zero

Ugh Children of the Corn is a boring, uninteresting, not scary movie. Creepshow is WAY more fun.

Shaun Stacy

Oof, Sleepaway Camp is a choice. You may want to swap it out for something less problematic.

JC

I'm not super into/familiar with most of these, but omg the insanity that is Sleep Away Camp needs to be reacted to

Angie C

Hoping Return of the Living Dead, Friday the 13th Part 4 and Trick R Treat make it on a poll

Wendy

The Fog is scary as crap. Good one.

StellaG0111

The Changeling is not only scary and unsettling but also a great mystery. The Dead Zone has a great premise. The Fog is one of my favorites featuring two favorite Scream Queens

keoma songs

Needs more CAT PEOPLE (1982). if only in honor of Beans. It's a horror movie with cats (sort of). Add Cat's Eye (1985), Lucio Fulci's The Black Cat (1981), and Sleepwalkers (1992) and you can have an all-feline fest!

Richard Stegman Jr.

I know it won’t win the poll but The Changeling is one of the best ghost story movies ever. Actually…Ghost Story isn’t bad either.

James Sharp

Definitely Sleepaway Camp! Greatest ending ever! Plus, I actually met the film's star Felissa Rose and she was super nice!

Angela Munoz

Ya gotta do Creepshow. I should have never seen that movie as a little kid but I love that movie!

Tim Boxall

For a horror comedy, may I recommend The Final Girls

Heather Cotter

Not to nag, but...the rest of Angel season three? /o\

AuntVes

Thanks, Ashleigh! 🐈‍⬛ I hope on the Robert Redford memorial poll, you'll add the comedy/romance BAREFOOT IN THE PARK (1967) and the tragic-romance/political-drama THE WAY WE WERE (1973). I think you'd love them both. You might also want to add the one episode of THE TWILIGHT ZONE (1959 through 1964) he did during HalloBeans, because it's only like 24 minutes long. It's from Season 3 Episode 16 called "Nothing in the Dark" (1962).

Tyler Foster

She's doing decades polls, so unfortunately, this batch of '80s movies may have needed to be on this one.

W. Randy Hoffman

Gotta be The Fog (1980)! Great spooky story and super soundtrack, plus she likes John Carpenter, she likes Janet Leigh, and she loves Jamie Lee Curtis, doubleplus we have Hal Holbrook and that terrific cameo by John Houseman -- a perfect selection!

PieHard13

Think this is the most tricky list you've ever put together. Every single film is solid BUT I picked The Dead Zone. Christopher Walker in a great lead role and the ending could EASILY happen today.

William Wall

Ernest Scared Stupid, duh. Or maybe it is best watched in July. 🤔

Bill Bevins

For Robert Redford you have to make sure The Sting is on the poll. The Hot Rock and Three Days of the Condor are also good ones.

PieHard13

Oh and for the Robert Redford tribute, 3 words, The Last Castle. HIGHLY underrated film along with Sneakers but I think you've done that ?

Bill Bevins

The Ghost and Mr Chicken foe fun Wednesday Hallowbeans would be great.

Tim MacKay

Can you watch I know what you did last summer 1997 (not 2025)??

Neil Silverman

Some good films on this list. It's not likely to win, but I have to call out The Fog. It's creepy and campy and fun, but on top of that I had the good fortune to meet Adrienne Barbeau (the star of the film) at a horror convention many years ago. The floor was just opening up, and everyone was lining up to meet the bigger-name guests, and she was alone, so we got to talking. We were commiserating over the then-recent cancellation of the TV show "Carnivale" and talking about the business and the films she'd been in. She was an absolutely LOVELY woman - warm, friendly, charming, funny. So often the guests at those conventions are terse and clearly don't really want to be there, but she came across as genuinely enjoying getting a chance meet her fans and talk about her work. She was a gem.

Greg Davis (YT-nobody you need to know)

Still trying to find out what happened to the Angel finale reactions. I was gonna binge the last 3 weeks of reacts all at once but the finale 3 I don't see at all.

Adam Doyle

Sleep Away Camp is crazy...but I think some classic Stephen King should get the green light here, so I am voting for Cujo, The Fog, and Children of the Corn.

Stephen Wise

I find it funny that 5 of these are Stephen King films.

Skip

Holy crap I would be happy with any of these winning! I hope more than one does!! Also for the eventual Redford poll, Im sure The Way We Were will win but I really hope Barefoot in the Park gives it a good fight!

Ethan Messer

I always liked Nightmare on Elm street 3 - Dream Warriors

Ethan Messer

Yes to I know What You Did Last Summer 97'

I🖤Kraken

Ghost Story 1981! Favorite scary movie of all time...

CapitalEffyou

Cap also abstain from horror movies in addition to musicals. But leaving a like! Y'all enjoy those favorites! I do like "Underworld" movies though...

Grigsy

COTC, Creep, Cujo.

JONNY

SOME GREAT CHOICES ON HERE, HAPPY TO SEE SOME CLASSIC 80’S KING AND CARPENTER

Pogo Yaga

I can already smell the burning rubber from here- I love Creepshow to death but that's 2 hours long and Children of the Corn may well go down as her least favorite HalloBeans movie next to Beetlejuice. Though I liked Children of the Corn on my last re-watch. Anyway... I voted for Christine.

Alexis Callagan

Is it bad that I chose all but 2?

Victor Long

I limited myself to 3, because if I had voted for all of them, I might as well have voted for none of them. :-)

David Young

Looks like we're going to have a HUGE memorial poll soon. RIP Robert Redford...

Atlas Image

Many great choices, good to see some good old 80's

Echo Moon

Please add Barefoot in the Park (1967)for the Robert Redford poll. It's my fav one of his. I would also recommend The Horse Whisperer (1998)

Skip

I would have had SO MANY QUESTIONS FOR HER

Repomanda22

Sleepaway Camp is a crazy cult classic with an ICONIQUE ending

Joe Blankenship

I think Sleepaway Camp would be the more entertaining reaction.

Michael Tocci

As per usual, campaigning for "[REC]" for a scary poll and "One Cut of the Dead" for non-scary. As for this poll, we gots to Creepshow it up.

Anais Hilator

All that needs to be said about this poll is...Stephen King was a beast in the 70s/80s! If he wrote it became a film inside of a year and a half. Also fun fact......he has a non speaking acting role in Creepshow!

Vicious Trollop

Excellent selection of 80s Hallobeans contenders. I chose Christine, The Fog, Sleepaway Camp & Children of the Corn. I would be happy with almost all of these, but I decided 4 out of 8 would be good!

Jeff K

Obviously, Ash, fully respect waiting until after Hallobeans... but man, if ever there was someone to bump the schedule to honor, it's Robert Redford.

Leaf on the Wind

For the Robert Redford poll, I hope "A Walk in the Woods" is on it. My sister was an extra in that, and she got to meet him.

Angela McCarty

Christine or Cujo. Hope you get to The Frighteners (1996) someday!

Stevilicious

Please ANYTHING but Children of the Corn🤞🏻

Jeb Manning

It's beyond time that Ashleigh watches Creepshow. One of the best and most creative horror movies of the 80's. It needs to win.

Paul Devin

YEAH! The Frighteners would be a great Wednesday Hallobeans movie!

Richard Smith

Poor Changeling. Not getting a medal this time around. Was a tough choice between The Fog and Creepshow, and looks like I backed an underdog (underfog?) again. Creepshow’s currently pretty high in the votes, so should I hold my breath for my second choice?

Evening Star

Apparently I'm a fan of scary movies that start with "The".

ssb031

Was Langoliers a full length movie or was that a made for TV one? I can't remember! That one was wild!

ssb031

I'm happy to see Creepshow and Christine (both of which I voted for) on the list! I used to read the Creepshow comics.. those were something! LOL

HeatheЯ

CUJO!!!!!!! Great book too!

Leon

She mentioned in the Freaky Friday post that her hard drive with the Angel reactions was corrupted. I was dying to see how she was gonna react to the wild end of the season.

TravizzivarT

would have loved to have had some more of the bad 80's movies on here.

Brian Booher

Children Of The Corn is scary, but nowhere near as scary as Children Of The Candy Corn!

Robert Reichle

Creepshow, not because I like it best, but because I think Ashley would LOVE it. Very saucy and creepy at the same time.

Angie C

After Creepshow we need Tales from the Darkside (1990)

Skip

I will be Toccis Hype Man on this campaign. (REC) NEEDS to happen

Adolfo Acosta

Children of yhe Corn isn’t scary at all though

Darrell Minor

Fright Night and Fright Night part 2 are pretty good. Not the remakes. Especially Fright Night 2!!! That was garbage. Vamp is pretty good too.

Evening Star

I was just thinking about Robert Redford movies and there are so many great ones, but I'm going to throw in a personal favorite, because I think it's really funny. "Barefoot in the Park"

karl balstad

Since it's football season how about Knute Rockne All American, Brian's Song, Rudy, Remember The Titans

karl balstad

I also recommend the original Universal Monster franchise, Dracula (1931) Frankenstein (1931), King Kong (1930), The Mummy (1930), The Werewolf (1940) and The Invisible Man (1930).

L Shock

Whoa. I'm genuinely surprised. I thought Sleep Away Camp was going to demolish all the other ones.

Kristina Weber

Lot of good choices here! Most are not actually scary but more creepy. I picked The Fog as the score is awesome and it has a good ghost story feel. But Cujo would have been my runner up as a rabid large dog is actually terrifying.

Mikey Hutchinson

Damn! The Fog might not be part of Hallobeans 2025. Come one guys. Get voting!

Goodeius

"Creepshow" for all us comic book readers when we were kids!

Echo Moon

I will add to your list with All the Right Moves, Invincible, The Replacements, Woodlawn, and Radio. :)

Echo Moon

First we need Creepshow 2, then Tales from the Darkside. :)

Echo Moon

sorry to correct you, but he speaks a good bit in Creepshow...."Meteor sh*t!" LOL

Rey R

For some of the newer horror I would definitely recommend weapons

Malikai

I loved Sleepaway Camp, but I'm not so sure the surprise twist will be very appropriate in today's environment. What a effed up movie that was lol

Lionbarber

Thanks for having the Changeling on there! Absolutely amazing ghost story. Can't wait for the year that it beats out the bigger, more popular films.

Dissonant Bard

I would also love to see It Follows on a poll

Gareth Pendlebury

Creepshow is more of a comedic comic book affair. Wouldn't scare the cat. Good fun film though and it looks like it's going to win. Cujo would scare the bejesus out of her! Correction. Children of the Corn. That'll do.

Mary Brown

Honestly, these are all good!

John Morgan

You should absolutely watch and react to Michael Jackson's Thriller if you haven't seen it. It's only 13 minutes long.

Emmaline

Creepshow because of all the cool anthology stories

Emmaline

Can we add F.W. MURNAU'S 1924 Nosferatu

Jacob

Fright Night 2011 is legit a sat on cult classic. Written by Jane Espenson, who got her start on Buffy mind you, and starring Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell as the two leads. Also has David Tennant if you are a Doctor Who fan

Elizabeth Sheppard

I still think that Hallobeans should last ALL FALL so you can watch more spooky movies

Tina Thomure

Sad that The Changling didn’t get more votes it’s an excellent movie.

RalyDee

Which The Fog? There's a 1980 & 2005 versions.

RalyDee

Never mind, just registered 1980s in the heading (I need more coffee 😴)

Flounder

Well since 1990 is technically the last year of the eighties I would add Jacob’s Ladder (1990) to the pool. I can’t believe there aren’t more Halloween reactions to it.

Mary Lawrence

I wish you had added The conjuring 2

Wendy Smith

Like with Gene Hackman, you could dedicate an entire month to Robert Redford and barely scratch the surface. That is going to be one difficult poll -- although I suspect I know what will win (mentally singing, "Rain drops keep falling on my head....").

Mary Alice

Oh, please, please please I have not seen any reactors react to Cujo. I also like the fog and Christine. Cujo is a very suspenseful movie quite a few jump scares.

Zombie

Really need to suggest movies like Terror Train or Prom Night, they’re 80s and star Jamie Lee Curtis.
