This movie is quite the roller coaster ride. The small records you asked about were known as 45s, which is how music singles were released. They were being played in a jukebox. The guy on the train was upset because he committed suicide by jumping in front of a train but wouldn't admit it. That's why he was adamant about being pushed. I knew this movie would get the waterworks going for Ashleigh.

Demi Moore was one of a group of about 8 or 9 actors who emerged in the '80s and were given the nickname of "The Brat Pack". It included all the cast of The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink and St. Elmos Fire, to name a few. This was another movie I really knew you would enjoy. Also, Whoopi Goldberg won the Oscar for best Supporting Actress for this.

Whoopi won the Oscar the same year Kathy Bates won for Misery. Hopefully before winter is over you may want to check out Misery 1990. Especially since you say you love Kathy.

I second! And I’m hopeful for Dolores Claiborne too. You can rarely go wrong w/Stephen King. Throw Titanic in there, and you’ve got the Kathy Bates trifecta. That woman can ACT! 🎭

Ahhh, that Beans footage was literally purr-fect. 🐈 Listening to her purr is so relaxing. And the painted wall looks really nice. Has a den kinda feel to it. Liked your shirt too. To avoid comments about the run time, maybe just re-phrase. “It was 2 hrs ... and FELT like it.” Or, “It was a 2-hr movie ... but felt like 4.” Also, I really appreciate that you’ve added, “Would watch again,” or not, in your review. Patrick Swayze once said he wouldn’t do Ghost without Whoopi. Whoopi broke down on camera on The View when she had to announce the day of his death. He left his mark in the EI.

Truly recommend that you watch "Jumping Jack Flash" - for CLASSIC Whoopi Goldberg comedy. And of course, "Dirty Dancing" for CLASSIC Patrick Swayze. And completely off topic, also hope you add "Moonstruck" to your list. Soooo sooo good!

You are correct...i guess the point I was trying to make is i'm mainly into horror/sci fi/action/slapstick comedy and it definitely doesn't fall into those categories...i guess it's a supernatural love story...that being said i do like some romantic movies i loved "Roman Holiday" with Gregory Peck and the wonderful Audrey Hepburn

Ok so yeah looks like the other comments have already said what I was going to say. Patrick Sywayze - Point Break, Dirty Dancing and Red Dawn. Did you know he and Jennifer grey hated each other’s guts! Keanu Reeves is in Point break too, do you know who he is? If not... watch the matrix and John Wick, and maybe Bill and teds excellent adventure. Anyway I digress... Whoopi Goldberg - Jumpin Jack Flash and sister act Demi you could watch GI Jane, she’s also in strip tease but it’s pretty bad. She’s also in A few good men with Tom cruise and that’s a great movie

Just to watch. No need to tape and react to "The Color Purple," although I do have a birthday this year. There are connections in abundance to films and artists we know Ashleigh loves ... it seems a logical choice in terms of progression. On the other hand, you're not wrong about the "laugh a minute" issue for those who follow Miss Ashleigh strictly for comedy as evidenced by 191K views for that riotous cavalcade of slapstickery, "The Excorcist."

Carl TOTALLY got what came to him! After I first saw this movie, years ago, I hated Tony Goldwyn (Carl) in almost every other character he played because of his cringy Carl character.
