Hiii Sorry for the silence!  As you can imagine - this last week at work is HELL 

Clue goes up tomorrow BUT help me choose what is next!

For March - I wanted to play off of March Madness - but not sports, MADNESS in general.

All are good movies and completely different. I chose One who flew for a couple reason. 1. You like the actress who plays Ratchet in the new series. Which is a SJW version that has nothing to do with the movie or book. 2. It's ranked as one of the top movies every made. 3. While Mad mad mad is more fun since you don't know any of the allatar cast in it. You may not enjoy it aa much.

There is a Michael Keaton comedy called "the Dream team" with an all star cast that seems to fit the bill of what you're looking for. You would like it. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is BRUTAL. Great film, but a very heavy subject

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT DO THE RESTORED CUT. It's actually incomplete with sections that are stills/set photos because they lost some footage. Some sections are work print quality. The restored cut is for completionists and film buffs and historians. P.S. I own the restored cut.

I mostly agree with this. Being able to recognize the actors in the film and and already knowing why they're important helps but there's still some chuckles to be had without that knowledge. Just not very many to fill three hours.

As much as I love "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World," it's a long, slow comedy that hinges on knowing the main comedians and ALL of the cameos to fully appreciate it. "Stir Crazy" is a great pick, especially since if you like it you can watch "Silver Streak" at some point! Oh, and seconding Mark Finley's recommendation of "The Dream Team." "We are all NAKED in the eyes of the Lord!"

Yes, Ashleigh won't know any actors. But it's funny and shows what can truly turn people mad! Plus, no one else has done a reaction to the movie on YouTube.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest is one of my top 10 films of all time. Everyone is so young. Jack Nicholson, Danny DeVito, Christopher Lloyd, Louise Fletcher... Amazing! I can't even tell you how many times I've watched it. I was four when this came out.

There are some sports movies that are good even if you don't care for sports (i don't). THE NATURAL, WHITE MEN CAN'T JUMP, THE SANDLOT, A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN, FIELD OF DREAMS and MAJOR LEAGUE. FIELD OF DREAMS is my favorite of these.

A CLOCKWORK ORANGE is a Marmite movie - people love it or hate it. Surreal, brutal and about the only way to make it darker would be to shut the TV off entirely. I wanted to bleach my brain the first time I saw this but I'd rather have that then have two hours wasted by celluloid nothingness.

If you like Abrahams & Zucker, you'll like this movie. Danny DeVito plays the bad guy as only he can play it and there are ridiculous twists and turns throughout the movie.

She has stated several times how much she loves Sarah Paulson who is in the TV show about Nurse Ratched. So if that is who she thinks Nurse Ratched is she will be disappointed. That show while claims to be about the same Nurse it painfully misrepresents the character. Plus the ages are completely off. But that's a different debate. My Millennial Gf wanted to watch the TV show and I had her watch the movie first so she wouldn't make that mistake. I love its a mad mad mad mad world so don't get me wrong. But without knowing these people I do think it takes some of the fun away. For me Jonathan Winters could just stand still and do nothing and I'll still laugh.

I disagree. Knowing who the actors are isn't needed to get any of the comedy or story. There are a few meta moments where the casting is an inside joke, but it's not like, oh, this movie is 60 years old so no one should ever watch it again. That would be ridiculous.

The Nurse Ratchet series is downright OFFENSIVE: The producers wanted another Hannibal or Bates Motel to kiss up to the female-demographic "Bad Grrl"-fantasy crowd, but couldn't find any culty female serial killers in movies. So they took a Boomer-remembered movie icon meant to be a social criticism of real-life 70's hospital conditions, and turned her into a campy Baby Jane in a Halloween evil-nurse costume...Gay-misogynistic enough for ya? If Ash is expecting the series version to be in Cuckoo's Nest, BOY, is she in for a big traumatizing shock--Which I'm sure is the way Milos Forman would like it.

Okay, seriously ... WOW! Way to subvert expectations on the madness theme. It’s brilliant!! And the choices are fab-u-lous! 🎶 One of these is not like the others but in a league almost all by itself. It’s 1 of only 3 films in the history of the Oscars to win all 5 major categories. A must-see. My mom and I would watch Mad World on NYE. I barely remember it. I’d be curious to see if it holds up. Stir Crazy wouldn’t win any awards, but Gene Wilder shines. I still remember his best bits, and I haven’t seen it since it opened. Ruthless was a surprise hit. Very clever and you really like the main star. Perfect casting.

I’m assuming we’ll have more movies in March and the madness theme will cover the whole month? If correct, might I suggest a different kind of madness ... like the serial killer kind? SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (1991) Thriller/Horror Why not get both those Oscar babies in one month? C’mon, you know you want to. Even if you don’t think so now, once you see it, you’ll be like, “Yeah, I FOR SURE wanted to see that.”

All of these are good picks! One Flew is some of Jack Nicholson's best work, imho--it's an emotional roller coaster though. If you would rather have a good laugh, you should definitely go with Stir Crazy :)

Well said Eric. I rather enjoyed Steel Magnolias, and Ashleigh loved it for many reasons despite the fact it broke her down. I agree there are some movies that have been requested that, of course, majority won’t agree on, but she gets invested into almost any movie really. The last 2 reactions were duds, so here’s to getting back on track with some thoroughly great films. ✌🏼

It's older, so that's probably why it's not getting as many votes, but It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World is SUCH an amazing slapstick comedy with an extraordinary cast (including: Milton Berle, Sid Cesar, Ethel Merman, Buddy Hackett, Mickey Rooney, Spencer Tracy, Johnathan Winters, Peter Falk, Buster Keaton, Don Knotts, Jimmy Durante, and even the Three Stooges!). It was the best ensemble cast of comedy you could have put together in the early 1960s, and it's weird and frantic and funny to this day.

Agreed. Rat Race was fun and the cast is decent (it's honestly worth watching just for John Cleese's teeth), but if you compare it to It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, it really is a pale imitation. One old movie that I think could be more successfully remade is The Long, Long Trailer with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. They are newlyweds who decide to buy a gigantic RV as their first home, and life on the road causes their marriage to implode while they're still on their honeymoon. Lucy and Desi aren't playing their characters from I Love Lucy, but there's a similar dynamic and a lot of great slapstick from Lucille Ball in particular that makes this a FABULOUS romantic comedy. Melissa McCarthy or Kristin Wiig or a number of other comediennes could probably do a decent job in Lucille Ball's role, and you could further update it to be one of those obnoxious tiny home couples instead of a regular RV if you preferred.

TY You are incorrect in that she can use a registered trademark as evidenced by the many articles that come up if you Google it. She cannot. Will YT flag it? Idk but why take the chance? I mean, idc if she does. I’m just trying to save her the headache. You can def use the idea of it, just not the specific term. She could say, “There’s a certain Madness that comes in March that’s related to sports; but I’m going to do my own riff on that called [the Madness of March] [Millennial Movie Madness] [ ? ] that’s related to ‘madness’ in general.” Also, using the trademark will invariably confuse some ppl expecting sports movies.

"The Madness of King George"(1994) is another to put on the March roster. It's an historical drama about, well, the madness of King George III, its causes and consequences. It was nominated for awards in many categories and won several, notably Helen Mirren won in Cannes for Best Actress and Nigel Hawthorne won the BAFTA (Britain's Oscar) for Best Actor.

I have to give it to Edward. I orig thought, like many, that not knowing the actors in Mad World would hinder the comedy. Then I remembered that they were before my time when I initially saw it as a kid. Having never seen the majority of the cast in anything before or since didn’t hinder anything. I loved it. I’m still curious to see if it will hold up. With older comedies, you never know if what was funny then will be funny today; but that has nothing to do w/casting.

You’ll get your wish for a few of those. Per her POB livestream, what’s coming are: The Jerk, Big Trouble and Bueller, among others. Arizona and Caddy are already up. Last Christmas, everyone adv her to watch Vacation before Christmas Vacation, so it’s in the works too. No idea when. Top Gun is also coming, she said, so I’d be happy if she did Risky before that. Not sure if it holds up, but I love the quotes and adore Joey Pants. Nice start to Tom Cruise whom, idk if ppl realize, was a BO king way before MI.

The tricky thing about this topic is that it includes a lot of really well done serious films like One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest and I don't think those work for reaction videos. It's not fair to you to not be able to give it your full attention. Comedy and action/horror work because there are constant things with big responses but I just don't see it for dramas.

I just watched Mad etc with a 9-year old and a Millennial and they both loved it, despite knowing almost done of the greats. In fact, it led them to look for more films by some of them.

Just to add you totally need to watch WHAT ABOUT BOB? Bill Murray, Richard Dreyfus...It's perfect. Another good mental type movie is THE VOICES with Ryan Reynolds. I love that one, but it is a fairly recent movie.
