8:59 Ok, so when all his subordinates call him 'Young Master', it is the very correct *direct translation* from the actual Japanese Oda used, but the lack of certain content can lead to your confusion. In Japanese samurai culture(if you watched a lot of their period shows like i did), 若(waka) is the shortened term for 若殿 (wakadono) or 若様 (wakasama) This means: *Young Master*;or Young Lord. As a respectful title, refer to the young heir of a noble/family they served; but in the One Piece scenario, probably better translated to as 'Young Lord', or it can just translate to boss imo BTW, this *samurai-ish* terminology is as old-fashioned as it is. Is still used in the modern Japanese mafia, so there is some very on-point choice he made here ;)
