Don't worry, those fights with admirals in the opening 17 was made up by Toei just to hype up the arc (and they never happened)

The opening with the colorful outfits and Luffy fighting admirals/Blackbeard was for the 15th anniversary of the anime. That's why it was so over the top

Thanks for the video! I really spent a lot of time listening to OP 16 back then. Those short scenes at the end all referred to color spreads from the manga which I found really cool once animated <3

"Why is Frandy cooking?" - Come on Lindsay, Franky always cooks, always! OP 18 when Luffy's Gear 3 hand extends from the mountain face, that was a nod towards Naruto's (Hokage Mountain face) Manga resolution. Really like how these openings with how much fun they look while showing the Strawhats hanging out on the ship, really emphasizes what the One Piece really is about.

The FMI ending is one of my favorites. Its kind of cool the band did a reaction to the ed being aired and were really hype about it. Also op 16 is one of my favorites. The site I was watching one piece at the time kept op 15 all the way through punk hazard for some strange reason so I never got to see 16 my first watch through.
