Arran McLachlan

Did you see Turkey Al Shake saying he wants Inoue - Tank at 140. Savior of boxing is a fucking casual smh

At the very least, his forehead could use the extra padding

on the whole wrestling trials thing, Chance Marsteller went from high school phenom, kicked out of college, opiod addict, to US World Team by beating Jordan Burroughs.

Talkin' Twitter beef (OK, nothing new there) and Tekken, but been over four years since Sakuraba part one of four. I'm a boi! I'm entitled to my Sakuraba! What, five bucks only buys me the content I was promised? I don't get to make demands? Will you do the rest if I become a Renaissance billionaire and commission it for a few mill? I may be the ghost of the greatest drummer ever, in which case I have hundreds of millions of dollars. You never know... EDIT: I wish I could learn modern fighting games, but my skill ceiling was Mortal Kombat III. Back when it was three or four buttons for a special move and you didn't have to put twelve fifteen-button combos together to win a match. Oh well.

Some Dude

Slack you gotta start watching may Basho Ura is making big moves this tourney

Hey Jack, love the poddy but was wondering if you were considering doing anymore history episodes. I recently went back and listened to the British in China trilogy again and loved it. I also listened to the Liston episode. Were there plans at any point to do anything more like this? Either way keep doing what you're doing, your tips have been great and massively improved my sparring in the gym.

Warwick Bot

Quite sorry for the misunderstanding. Now tell me am I being an asshole, or genuine?

Neil Peart, Lord of Drums

Is there a legit fighting game out there that people play, but that isn't too complicated for an idiot like me who can barely parry in Fromsoft games? Something without insane button combos, counters, and so on, but just good old fighting with simpler stuff and head games?

Caleb Hunt

I feel like I get more enjoyment from you talking about boxing than I do from you talking about MMA. Please do more instead of once in a blue moon, even if it's just on the boicast.

The Lennox Lewis of talking foolish

Inoue is huge in Japan. When it’s fight week, there’s posters of him up everywhere in Tokyo, and his fight vs Nery broke the Amazon Prime Japan viewing record, beating out Ohtani. I know my fellow Slacky enjoyers are mostly MMA fans, but if you are curious about boxing at all, please consider checking out Inoue

The Naoya Inoue of scaring the hoes away, Jack Slack.

Hey Slacky, Lennox Lewis was “filming” Ocean’s 11 for the 1st Hason Rahman fight when he got KO’d, not the Vitali Klitschko fight.

These first two are like flavors of street fighter/2d fighters: Pocket rumble (https://store.steampowered.com/app/389050/Pocket_Rumble/) Fantasy Strike (https://store.steampowered.com/app/390560/Fantasy_Strike/) and Dive Kick (https://store.steampowered.com/app/244730/Divekick/) Dive kick is probably one of the most barebones fighting games in existence. There's jump and kick, that's it. It was made as a joke but its fun might fit the bill Disclaimer: I just know these games by rep from other fighting game players and have read about them. But I've played a shit ton of fighting games so just taking a look at them they could be a nice fit for what you're describing If for whatever reason you wanna try a more mechanically complex fighting game like Tekken, Street Fighter, Smash or whatever This: https://youtu.be/mCUlBX8E2BU?si=XZeEI7X5eaIEtVOd is good advice on how to set off on your journey. TLDR don't worry about combos and all that bullshit go hit some buttons Also there's modern controls in Street Fighter that does a good job of helping bridge the gap in execution. Tekken has a related system but I don't know it well Sorry for only the steam links but I assume you can get them on other platforms but I'm lazy The e honda of trying to sell hondas bless

Thanks a lot, man! Much appreciated. The fighting games look so cool, but there's no way I could ever keep up with the crazy combos, counters, and all the other shit there is these days. It just seems nuts. But, then again, I'm basically a single-player type guy. I guess fighting games appeal to me because I remember the days of it being more of a chess match, where you were constantly trying to fool your opponent so you could pull of just one or two moves. It was like constantly feinting and striking and changing up your rhythms, but the moves themselves didn't come nearly so fast. Maybe I'm just getting old :)

Check out For Honor. Legit sword fighting game that isn’t button mashing dependent
