Rizin 17 represents the beginning of a transition period. The old stars of PRIDE cannot be relied on to prop up cards anymore, and with Kyoji Horiguchi and Tenshin Nasukawa already working gruelling schedules Rizin must get some of its homegrown talent to catch on or risk fading away like DREAM. We take a look at some of the promising talents on this understated card.

Rizin 17 Preview - The Fight Primer

Rizin only hosts three or four cards a year and yet Rizin 17 shapes up as the second Rizin card in a row to not carry much hype ahead of time. There aren't many PRIDE legends around any more and perhaps tellingly one of the most reliable for Rizin, Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic recently had to retire due to a stroke.
