The Earth is a bit different than ours but days, months, years are the same, also same moon and the sun although the other planets in the solar system seem to be a bit different.

Definitely resist the urge to look up the lore, a lot of it gets explained throughout the show and you wouldn't want to ruin the surprises. I promise it's worth the wait
