Yey! Porco Rosso! :D

AnTonio

Ok after the very emotional "Your Name" it would be just fair to let you watch something happier ;-) So my vote goes for Porco Rosso, one of my Top 3 Ghibli Movies (Laputa, Porco, Whisper - I dont count Grave because this is another Level...)! :-)

Tori

The Man From Nowhere being the Korean film, yes?

Axis35

RIght. Im going with Porco Rosso too. It's not my fave ghibli but it's definitely way more uplifting. Then Grave for next poll

vkunia

LMAO its okay you guys can make me cry over and over thats what im here for 😭

Kevin

*Alternate Suggestion* You should look into an anime called "Eden of the East" if you haven't seen it. I have a feeling you'd really enjoy it. There are only 11 episodes and 1 movie and all are worth it. Perhaps I could persuade you to at least watch the first episode at some point.

vkunia

Oooh what's it about?? Or rather, should I watch the trailer? Or would it reveal too much?

Kevin

Sure you should be able to get away with watching the trailer without being too spoiled. You could say it's a mix of modern slice of life with comedy, romance, and suspense. Hmm, the easiest way to explain the story is to ask you this. If I gave you and your friends 10 billion dollars each and told you that your mission is to use your money to cause huge positive change for the world and society, how would you spend or invest your money? Keep in mind the first one to use their money in the best way to save the world wins, and those who fail to use their money in any positive way will be assassinated. Also you have no clue what I mean by save the world, all you have is the money I gave you and a warning that if you don't save the world, someone will come kill you. ..

Kevin

So how would you and your friends use your money then?

vkunia

Soooooooooooooooooooooo it means I have to add it to my list LOL :)

I have two non-ghibil movies I highly recommend. One is "A silent Voice," A sad but uplifting tale set in modern day japan. No magic, no superpowers but an amazing tale about redemption and learning to live with yourself. Heartbreaking but makes me cheer in the end. The other is "Paprika."

scalien

I couldn't edit my message, but the other is "Paprika." This one is by the late Satoshi Kon and he is only slightly below Miyazaki as one of the greatest anime directors ever. Other movies/series by him are, "Millenial Actress," "Tokyo Godfathers" and the horror/slasher movie (hard R) "Perfect Blue." I don't know if, "Perfect Blue" is appropiate for your channel as it is violent and inapproptiate in a number of ways, but it is good enough Darren Aronofski used direct shots and concepts from it for "Requiem for Dream," and "Black Swan." That isn't a knock on Aronofski, it is just that good of a movie.

Axis35

YES!! Silent Voice and Paprika! I cant wait for the day she reacts to both!!

vkunia

!! I've had both of those on the list! Maybe I'll add them to the next polls 😆shhhh 🤗

vkunia

Oh my goodness I'll be nervous to watch that then LOL Tokyo Godfathers is ANOTHER film that is extremely recommended :)

AnTonio

Oh and by the way, Porco Rosso has an post-credit scene... ;-)
