I’ve begun the process of getting my tattoo sleeve and it’s been a wonderful and wonderfully painful experience. I’ve always loved the idea of what I like a to call “a sticker sleeve” which I basically just a bunch of smaller tattoos scattered around. I love this idea because it’s not just aesthetically pleasing (to me), it’s also a great way for me to show off who I am, and all of the things that make me me. It allows freedom to get any random thing you love without having to compromise to make it fit a theme.

I’ve always said that I wish I could go back in time and not get any tattoos but that was because of lost opportunities, and a less clean looking cosplay aesthetic. Over the past years (and thanks to patoren) I feel like I’ve come to realize that I don’t have to be worried about a clean cosplay aesthetic because people are here to support ME. I don’t have to be afraid that “Robin doesn’t have tattoos” because it not about seeing Dick Grayson as Robin, it’s about seeing Michael Hamm as Robin.

For years and years I’ve felt like my body isn’t my own. My body belonged to the internet so what ever they said was what I have to do. Getting a bunch of tattoos was very therapeutic in the reclamation of my own body and I’m excited to show them off soon! Just keep in mind that I was very scared about showing them off so I did work incredibly hard to bank a lot of content before I got them. Shaun also worked/is working extremely hard to get things ready because we did about 4 shoots in one month lol. So yeah, don’t be weirded out if you see some photos with tattoos and some without!

I love you all so much and I’m so thankful to all of you for always being so kind, genuine, and supportive. I’m a very lucky guy and not a day goes by that I don’t recognize it’s because of all of you.

Did you touch up the Batman one or am I missing a change?

I love tattoos. Personally I think they are amazing forms of self expression and I have never been distracted by your tattoos when cosplaying a character.

JEFFA

No, just please don’t get a whole sleeve tattoo. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I think we’ve spoken about tattoos enough that you know I’m all for it. Express yo self!

Ooh I can't wait to see more! I'm currently in the same process of getting multiple random tattoos on my right arm so I'm all here for yours 🙌

Omg love it!!! Can’t wait to see where you go with it! My only advice is to maybe work with an artist as you add more stickers to make something of an overall plan, so that the whole arm’s look has some coherence to it as you add to it. I previously had a few distinct tattoos on my forearm and then decided they looked like they didn’t go together at all, so I went back later and worked with an artist to fill in between them to make them look less jumbled and more they complemented each other. Of course you may not have the same experience, but personally I wished I’d done that planning earlier.

Jesse

You are amazing

I hate to be negative, but I never cared for sleeves. Don't hate me.

Christian

It's your body, do what you want with it, but all the ink just isn't for me. :(
