Swelcome to the February 2024 edition of my Patreon Exclusive Updates for paid patrons only! There will be a tl;dr at the end for you swellos on the go.

Fesh Pince 3:
I am still slowly chipping away at Fesh Pince, but if I'm being honest, it's becoming painful due to the increasing lag of the project. It's so big that every time I move a clip around, there is a chance it will lag for 20+ seconds or crash. I'm going to try to trim the project down to help with that, but I have another solution that I will touch on later in this post. I am also still working on the Fesh Pince editing process write-up I previously mentioned. I'll have that done for March as well, I've just been prioritizing actual editing over finishing it.

Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (Captain Rescue) Nideo:
This project is actually going really well! I originally planned to post it in February, but I kept coming up with new ideas, increasing the scope of the nideo. Admittedly, I have been working on this more than Fesh Pince lately because the project runs soooo much smoother due to its smaller size. I will have this one done in March for sure. I'm very happy with how it's shaping up so far.

New Editing Computer:
Thanks to your support, I was able to take a portion of my Patreon earnings and put it into my "New Editing Computer" fund! I am happy to announce that I now have a significantly better PC for editing! I am very excited to see how much this helps with the editing process. I still have a few more components I need to purchase (namely more storage) but once I finish setting everything up, it should speed things up drastically. For reference, my original PC was a prebuilt I purchased over 10 years ago that I had been keeping on life support with new parts here and there.

Future Plans:
Future plans remain the same as in the last post. My next big project will be a Roseanne  nideo. I'd still like to make a Fesh Pince Junior series, but I'm not sure when that will be. As always, I am keeping my eye out for random stuff I want to edit. I'm always fiddling around with different things to see what works. I don't want to make any promises that aren't set in stone, but I have my eye on a few sources right now...

THAT'S IT:
Thanks so much for all the support! You all have been amazing. I know I thank you swellos a lot, but I will continue to do so, because you deserve it for being so swell. I always look forward to sharing my weird shit with you all. Ever wonder why you folks are little teeth people? It's because you make me smile :)

tl;dr:

-Fesh Pince 3 project is getting laggy, but progress is slowly but surely still going

-AoStH nideo is going well and will be done sometime in March

-Thanks to your support I was able to get a new editing PC! This will speed up Fesh Pince editing and the creation of all future nideos

-Future plans are the same; Roseanne nideo, Fesh Pince Junior eventually, w/e else I decide to make

I've suffered from lag, before. I use Premiere for my Poops, and the solution I've found is to export a finished clip, and then reimport it, removing all the parts that made up the layer from the project. Just my suggestion for fixing that problem.

New computer is hyyyyyype!

Coke-Sprite Boy

you got my support, sweetheart

Aww A Sonic video in my birth-month ❤️

Thanks for the suggestion! I do sometimes render sections of the project and reimplement them like that, but I limit how often I do so because there are times where I need to reuse individual elements from said section. When it is prerendered, certain things can no longer be isolated for future use. It can also get quite messy because I will often revisit a prerendered section and think "Oh man, I would like to change that, but it's already rendered." Typically, I will just make separate projects for the really hefty bits so I can easily go back and re-render them if necessary, but that comes with the caveat of project clutter.

You need the 4090 ti, so you can increase your carltons renderable per minute

I feel like whatever you choose to poop will always be funny. For example, I feel like you could get endless material out of this one episode of Sonic...

You used the money for a new Pc? I thought you were saving money for a new hat. One so fancy you can use it as a chair.

Fog Hazard

This is all great news! Don't burn yourself out doing too much at once. We'll understand if you need some more time to make quality nideos.

Captpan6

Vegas user here. I'm guessing you've done this already, but one thing that's helped me with my vids is increasing the dynamic RAM preview setting. For someodd reason, Vegas had it set to 200 MB when my compy was capable of so much more than that.

KroboPro

CPM (Carltons per minute) is the true metric by which Fesh Pince quality is measured.

KroboPro

That episode has been very fruitful for me. For this nideo, I'll be including some other episodes into the mix as well.

KroboPro

I genuinely appreciate that. It's a tough balance. I tend to spend a lot of time editing, trying to come up with decent ideas, and then I feel extremely burnt out and disheartened. Fortunately, the bouts of burnout thus far have all been temporary, and after a small break from editing I typically come back feeling optimistic.

KroboPro

I appreciate the suggestion! I've messed with it in the past, and it is definitely helpful when using the video prerendering with shift+B - but as far as I'm aware - dynamic ram preview only affects the amount of memory allocated for video previewing, not for general editing. The primary issue for me seems to be the actual program lagging when I make alterations to the timeline. I'm hoping that, despite the size of the project, this new computer will help reduce that lag.

I'm happy to hear that the Patreon has genuinely been helping you out. I mainly supported for the Fesh Pince content, but I'm definitely willing to stick around for your other YTPs.

“Have you traveled anywhere exotic?” John Goodman then answers, “you should know that you’ve eaten here!” KO3EXKKE was my all time favorite show, and spending a month apart would be a steak!

I haven't been able to go without quoting "Call somebody good, I'm no else." any time I'm failing at a task for years now.

Have you tried splitting the project up into several smaller nested sequences and editing inside those? Truth be told, I've never worked on a project intensive enough to test this out but it might be a good compromise if you wanna work non-destructively. If that doesn't work maybe consider splitting the project into different "sub-projects"? Kinda like dividing the project into multiple, individual projects and reimport everything to reassemble/massage them in the final pass. Again, I've never had to do this myself so I'm just theory crafting at this point. Premiere projects are fairly small too so it wouldn't take up much extra storage and as long as you link/reuse the same media files you're golden, not to mention you can also open up the other projects incase you wanna copy something over. anyway, best of luck Krobo. you got this man. 🤘🫡

rewatching Fesh Pince 3 and the ATM "COME ON" guy was the moment that finally made me come sign up here lmao
