Kinda stupid to state his goal as it weakens his negotiating power, but on the flip side he can appraise the price (that the club would pay) for an item. Hostly he is better off asking for an item in exchange rather than cash. At least next time. At the current quality of the potion he made, he only needs to sell 10 to the guild to get 100 gold. Problem is I do not know if he would level up by then. If he wouldn’t he can negotiate that he wants to be paid in materials. So he gets 50% of any materials given. Which is honest generous as a deal. And he can craft his potions first, sell them to the club then make theirs. Again contingent on if he would hit level cap from crafting 10. Plus he could probably get more amazing skills from working with magical ingredients. Edit: IMPORTANT!! 1 gold = 100 silver = 10,000 copper. 100 gold = 10,000 silver = 1,000,000 copper. 1 copper = $1,000 1 silver = $100,000 1 gold = $10,000,000 100 gold = $1,000,000,000 (1 billion dollars). Asking for 100 million is the wrong amount. Unless he intends to multiply it by 10.

The Atlantean Crown owns every shipwreck and resource in the ocean legally speaking. Their assets are in the tens of trillions or something. It's why he went to them. There isn't really a negotiating position. He needs a hundred million dollars. The contract is mainly a formality at this point and he needs it done before the raid for Kate. The direct approach was the smartest call there.
