A few reasons. Firstly hes not the only one at risk. They can't really do shit to him, but there's nine of them and one of him and hes pinned between them and a bunch of innocents. There's a lot of ways for that to go wrong and fuck over Kim and Vicky. Secondly the S9 are the boogeyman in Worm. Endbringers just kill you, the nine will do worse. Its like Gotham criminals being scared of Batman. He isnt a meta, but hes just as bad. He grew up on those stories and they're in his bones. Hes ALSO wary of whatever is going on with their powers. He can kind of sense it because of the snowdrop but he doesnt know what it is and its making him nervous.
