Yay! They asked my question! I had to get one in for my favorite episode. I love the moment when Askeladd says, “Someone has to do it,” because it’s the core of his character. If Artorius isn’t coming to save his mother or Wales, then he’ll have to be the one. No matter what it takes. I have a love for characters who are willing to throw their morals on the sword if it means peace, like Luthen in Andor.

If you thought the first season was good, wait till the second. The first is a great season. The second elevates Vinland into one of the best written, most emotionally impactful and philosophical pieces of media I've ever consumed.

Askeladd is a fascinating character. You could see it the first time he met Thors. He want to follow someone that he truly believes in. I don't think Askeladd believes he is worthy enough to be a king that can bring about true change. But he does believe Canute is worthy. So he'll do all he can in his power to make him a king.

@ 30:00: Yeah, Thorfinn was 6 when Thors died and Askelaad was 11 when he fought his father and I think 13 when he killed him. Very big differences in mental capacities at those ages.

Anyone else think Apothecary Diaries would be a nice change of pace after this show? With the blend of mystery, drama, romance, and comedy, I think it would make for a nice break from the battle-heavy/philosophical shows they're used to while still being engaging.

Thorfinn's scream at the end was his realization that he's not the MC anymore, and hasn't been for most of the show up to this point. 😅 Jokes aside, it IS tragic for his character to only be seeing the reality of his actions NOW, and Aleks Le once again delivers.
