We’re starting to see some of our friends from the Hunter Exam, and if this episode tells us anything, they are out of their depth. What do you think of them showing up, and as a comparison to Killua and Gon?

If things weren’t already bleak, this episode was one that stuck out to me as, “wow this shit is getting dark.” Maybe it was seeing some characters we “know” get brutally attacked. Did you have a similar reaction?

There's one minor motive which goes throughout Hunter x Hunter: Gon's father abandoned him; Killua's father raised and trained him as the assasin; Gyro's father abused him to the point of almost breaking his will - and all of three sons idolized their fathers and also didn't acknowledged their mothers. I find this representation of fatherhood's influence of HxH characters quite fascinating. What do you think about it?

Ponzu tries to call for help in her final moments, showing both her courage and her desperation. What did you think of her death scene — was it more tragic because of how helpless it felt?

Think back to the tragic or dark moments of the Hunter Exam versus the brutal tragedies of the Chimera Ant arc. With Pokkle and Ponzu’s fate, how does it feel to see tragedy come full circle with characters we first met back then, and does their death show that the Chimera Ant arc is the darkest point the series has reached so far?
