Oh god. Yeah, I messed up. I'd even thought of the possibility it was regular rubber banding too but *gosh*, it sure as hell doesn't feel like it! I don't necessarily think it's not true; there are too many unconsidered variables in the data for it to hold much weight (and his description of "not being in 1st place as often" *completely* didn't match my experience, the entire reason it felt easier was because I was way ahead in 1st place more often, with gigantic leads I almost never saw when drifting becoming commonplace. Unless it's a total coincidence I went from grinding cups 5 or 6 attempts to finishing every cup and rally in the game 3 stars within 2 tries). But in retrospect there's nowhere near enough evidence for confirmation people aren't just, for an example hypothetical, unintentionally abusing the rubber banding by staying just far enough ahead not to trigger a major comeback (or maybe they're just... not making dumb mistakes, lol) I'll be sure to add an addendum note with the next render of the video

drifting doesnt turn the computers to hard mode, just like every other game in the series they just rubber band or opposite rubber band if youre in last and not drifting makes u slower :fire:
