That last scene is my favourite Hayley and Elijah scene in the whole show and it has nothing to do with their romantic relationship. And the look on Elijah’s face when Hayley says “loving one of us is a death sentence” – he knows that all too well. Tatia, Katherine (even though she became a vampire the version he loved died), Celeste, Hayley (though a hybrid, she still technically died). It’s also interesting that Hayley said “us”. It’s like Jackson’s death has made her see herself as a Mikaelson seemingly because of the negativity that comes with the name having affected someone she loved.

It's tragic that, with Jackson's death, Hayley comes to realize part of the reason that Elijah was trying to hold back when they were together -- "loving one of us is a death sentence."

It is sad what Hayley said “loving one of us is a death sentence” because it is true loving them is like giving yourself a death sentence and that why I think Klaus was scared to let cami in because he was scared she might died the same thing for Elijah he was scared to let Hayley because he scared she might died both Mikaelson brothers were scared to let anyone in because they are scared they might on them when they are deeply in love with that person Loving a Mikaelsson is a death sentence
